The Salvation Timeline

The Jehovah’s Witnesses believe that all except their religion will be destroyed at “Armageddon” and there will be a “Paradise Earth”.  They believe that only 144,000 will go to heaven and the remaining 8.2 million will live forever on earth. They also believe the previously dead of their religion will be resurrected just after “Armageddon”.  The “2nd death” is ceasing to exist.

Biblical Unitarians (; Christian Churches of God is not covered because of the complexity of its teachings)  believe the chosen will be part of a pre-Tribulation rapture and those that survive the Great Tribulation will be risen to heaven just before Jesus’ 2nd coming. The remainder that survive “Armageddon” will live on a “Paradise Earth” but eternal life does not occur until AFTER the final judgment. Pre Trib rapture is even a bone of contention among some mainstream religions. They believe that the 2nd death is ceasing to exist.

7th Day Adventists believe as so “The millennium is the thousand-year reign of Christ with His saints in heaven between the first and second resurrections. During this time the wicked dead will be judged; the earth will be utterly desolate, without living human inhabitants, but occupied by Satan and his angels. At its close, Christ with His saints and the Holy City will descend from heaven to earth. The unrighteous dead will then be resurrected, and with Satan and his angels will surround the city; but fire from God will consume them and cleanse the earth. The universe will thus be freed of sin and sinners forever. (Rev. 20; 1 Cor. 6:2, 3; Jer. 4:23-26; Rev. 21:1-5; Mal. 4:1; Eze. 28:18, 19.)” (source: 7th Day Adventist website). This would indicate that the 2nd death is cessation to exist.

There are some religious groups that believe the 2nd resurrection occurs in a similar manner as what the 7th Day Adventists teach, except that group suffers eternal torment in the lake of fire.

Armstrongism (United Church of God,  Restored Church of God  believe in a 2nd resurrection that occurs after the Wrath of God for people to redeem themselves during the 1000 years (a time of peace and prosperity) and a third resurrection of the wicked (quite possibly Rev 20:13). They also believe the 2nd death is ceasing to exist.

Hard core Catholics believe that the dead either go straight to hell, straight to heaven or “purgatory” (a middle ground for those not bad enough for hell nor good enough for heaven). Upon reading some Catholic websites, “Purgatory” is, in fact, Hades and “hell” is Gehenna (or the lake of fire).  Luke 16:19-31 is the story of the rich man who died and described a burning in Hades.

Most mainstream believe that those not the chosen ones will stand in front of the throne as outlined in Rev 20:12-15.  Each person will be reviewed and either sent to the lake of fire or heaven.

So let’s start at the basic verse (the first resurrection):

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17King James Version (KJV)

16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

The dead in Christ include:

The 144,000:

Revelation 7:2-4King James Version (KJV)

And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea, Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads. And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.

If one reads Rev 14, the 144,000 are without fault and blameless.  The fall of Babylon occurs after the 144K in Verse 8. Also, those who worship the beast and have the mark of the beast on the hand and forehead are basically sent to the lake of fire.

Revelation 14:8-11King James Version (KJV)

And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication. And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, 10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: 11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.

Those beheaded in the name of Jesus:

Revelation 20:4-5King James Version (KJV)

And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.

Revelation 19King James Version (KJV)

19 And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our God: For true and righteous are his judgments: for he hath judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand. And again they said, Alleluia And her smoke rose up for ever and ever.

The above shows the survivors of the Great Tribulation and the fall of Babylon.

Given the Holy City is still in heaven, they rule from heaven.

So what is the mark of the beast? It may surprise you.

The survivors of the Great Tribulation are the “alive in Christ”

Revelation 7:14King James Version (KJV)

14 And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

The signs of the Great Tribulation and 2nd coming:

Matthew 24:21-22King James Version (KJV)

21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.

Matthew 24:29-30King James Version (KJV)

29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: 30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

I think most Christians can agree the first resurrection is the chosen ones or “anointed class.”

Revelation 20:6King James Version (KJV)

Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

Some believe that those consumed by fire in Rev 20:8-9 are the descendents of those that survived the Wrath of God in 2 Peter 3:7.

Revelation 20:7-10 King James Version (KJV)

And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog, and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea. And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them. 10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

Related to the above:

Revelation 19:19-21King James Version (KJV)

19 And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army. 20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. 21 And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.

Here is the final resurrection:

Revelation 20:12-15King James Version (KJV)

12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. 13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. 14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

So if the earth is cleansed of sin in Rev 20:8-9, who is resurrected in verse 13 to stand in front of the throne? Let’s assume that Rev 20 occurs in a chronological manner. Rev 20:12 says the dead, small and great stand before God.  If all in the 2nd resurrection are consumed by fire in Rev 20:8-9 as some teach, who is left in verse 12?  Also, does that mean the “sea” and “Hades” are empty in verse 13? This and other details will be covered in “The 1000 Year Period.”

Daniel 7:10King James Version (KJV)

10 A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened.

Would this indicate that only 100 million will appear in front of God’s throne? If somebody rejected God before Judgment Day, they would be sent straight to the lake of fire on the 2nd resurrection.  I would think that Rev 14:10-11 would eliminate those who have the mark of the beast.  Then finally those physically consumed by fire in Rev 20:8-9. Would the “thousand thousands” be  those in 1 Thess 14:16-17?

So does that mean some that stand in front of the throne will be saved?

Romans 2:14-16King James Version (KJV)

14 For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves: 15 Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;) 16 In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.

Revelation 21:27New International Version (NIV)

27 Nothing impure will ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life (the Holy City is described in verses 1-4; It comes down out of heaven.Lastly, the time line of 2 Peter 3:7-13

2 Peter 3:7-13New International Version (NIV) –

By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly. But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. 10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything done in it will be laid bare.[a] 11 Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives 12 as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming.[b] That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat. 13 But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells.

Revelation 5:9-10King James Version (KJV)

And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;

10 And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.

The above would indicate that those in the first resurrection would rule on the earth AFTER the final judgment.

Here is the scenario:

Biblically we know that the Wrath of God happens at the 2nd coming of Jesus, governments are destroyed as are earthly organizations (including Babylon and the false prophets) and the wicked (including those that have the mark of the beast).  That is something that probably just about all Christian professing religions can agree on.  There is no evil during the 1000 years and that is another thing agreed on.  I think most of Christianity believes that the earth at the 2nd coming will be a wasteland.

At that point, those that died both before God’s Wrath and during would know nothing.

Ecclesiastes 9:5New International Version (NIV)

For the living know that they will die,
    but the dead know nothing;
they have no further reward,
and even their name is forgotten.

What about those that MAY survive God’s Wrath?  What if  the earth left was not, in fact a paradise?  What if some thought they were part of the chosen ones but here they are?  So who would be those consumed by fire in Rev 20:8-9 and who would be those that stand in front of the throne in Rev 20:12-15? Is it possible the 2nd resurrection could occur in 2 parts?

Here is a link to the “The 1000 Year Period”

Now we get to the group in Rev 20:12-15.  Matt 25:31-41 goes with this where Jesus separates the goats from the sheep.

Matthew 25:31-41King James Version (KJV)

31 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: 32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: 33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. 34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: 35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: 36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. 37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? 38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? 39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? 40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. 41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: a classic Jack Chick tract.  Mainstream seems to follow this line.

The ones that would be in for a rude awakening at this point would be their impression that they were in the group of the chosen or the ones that thought they were really doing the work of the Lord. Flight 144 is a prime example.

What is the lake of fire?

The parting thought:

Matthew 5:8 New King James Version (NKJV)

Blessed are the pure in heart,
    For they shall see God

What is purity?

Faith and Works

There is a dispute that faith has to have works for salvation on one side and faith alone is sufficient without works.

James 2:14-26King James Version (KJV)

14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,16 And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? 17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. 18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. 19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. 20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? 21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? 22 Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect? 23 And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God. 24 Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only. 25 Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way? 26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

Revelation 20:12King James Version (KJV)

12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

From other articles, one has to enter the body of Christ to be guaranteed salvation at the first resurrection.  Remember that those outside are judged as written in 1 Cor 5:13. One has to be pure of heart and blameless (Eph 5:27, Matt 5:8, Rev 14:5) to be part of this.

The ones that are judged by their works are in the 2nd resurrection (Rev 20:12-13).  100 million approximately (Dan 7:10) will make it to the White Throne.

Romans 2:13-16King James Version (KJV)

13 (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.

Other verses with the correlation of faith and works:

Galatians 2:16King James Version (KJV)

16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

Titus 3:8King James Version (KJV)

This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.

Hebrews 11King James Version (KJV)

11 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good report. Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh. By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God. But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith. By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went. By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise: 10 For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God. 11 Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised. 12 Therefore sprang there even of one, and him as good as dead, so many as the stars of the sky in multitude, and as the sand which is by the sea shore innumerable. 13 These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. 14 For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country. 15 And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned. 16 But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city. 17 By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son, 18 Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called: 19 Accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead; from whence also he received him in a figure. 20 By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau concerning things to come. 21 By faith Jacob, when he was a dying, blessed both the sons of Joseph; and worshipped, leaning upon the top of his staff. 22 By faith Joseph, when he died, made mention of the departing of the children of Israel; and gave commandment concerning his bones. 23 By faith Moses, when he was born, was hid three months of his parents, because they saw he was a proper child; and they were not afraid of the king’s commandment. 24 By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter; 25 Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season; 26 Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward. 27 By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible. 28 Through faith he kept the passover, and the sprinkling of blood, lest he that destroyed the firstborn should touch them. 29 By faith they passed through the Red sea as by dry land: which the Egyptians assaying to do were drowned. 30 By faith the walls of Jericho fell down, after they were compassed about seven days. 31 By faith the harlot Rahab perished not with them that believed not, when she had received the spies with peace. 32 And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gedeon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthae; of David also, and Samuel, and of the prophets: 33 Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions. 34 Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens. 35 Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection: 36 And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment: 37 They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented; 38 (Of whom the world was not worthy:) they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth. 39 And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise: 40 God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.

Evil works:

John 3:19King James Version (KJV)

19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

Jonah 3:9-10King James Version (KJV)

Who can tell if God will turn and repent, and turn away from his fierce anger, that we perish not? 10 And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not.

Galatians 5:19-21King James Version (KJV)

19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

Galatians 2:16 alone states that man is justified by faith in Jesus Christ and not works of the law.

If one reads Heb 11, it is apparent that good works are a byproduct of faith.

According to Titus 3:8, one that believes in God must be careful to maintain good works.  Even Satan believes God exists.

Synonymous with faith is trust:

Proverbs 3:5-6King James Version (KJV)

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Psalm 56:4King James Version (KJV)

In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.

The above go hand in hand with Heb 11.

Not trusting in God:

Psalm 52:7King James Version (KJV)

Lo, this is the man that made not God his strength; but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness.

Psalm 78:21-23King James Version (KJV)

21 Therefore the Lord heard this, and was wroth: so a fire was kindled against Jacob, and anger also came up against Israel; 22 Because they believed not in God, and trusted not in his salvation: 23 Though he had commanded the clouds from above, and opened the doors of heaven,

Mark 10:23-25King James Version (KJV)

23 And Jesus looked round about, and saith unto his disciples, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God! 24 And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God! 25 It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

Hypocrisy is claiming to have faith but not having good works:

Mark 7:6-7King James Version (KJV)

He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

1 John 3:15 and 1 John 4:20-21 define haters and Rev 21:8 defines the consequences.

Jesus instructs us to forgive in Matt 6:14-15 and Matt 18:21-22.  God does not forgive someone of his or her sins if that person doesn’t forgive another.

Job 31:28-30King James Version (KJV)

28 This also were an iniquity to be punished by the judge: for I should have denied the God that is above. 29 If I rejoice at the destruction of him that hated me, or lifted up myself when evil found him: 30 Neither have I suffered my mouth to sin by wishing a curse to his soul. Hatred and not forgiving are evil works and one doesn’t inherit the kingdom of God.

Praying  for God to curse one’s detractors is a sin.

Colossians 3:8King James Version (KJV)

But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.

In regards to Col 3:8, are pornographic/mocking memes and photos of people who do not share one’s beliefs righteous in the sight of God? For instance, drawing devil horns on former church members and other religious leaders.  Personal attacks (such as public defamation in social media by posting someone’s previous wrongdoings) are classed with this.  IT IS GOSSIP and the below verse relates to it.

Proverbs 16:28King James Version (KJV)

28 A froward man soweth strife: and a whisperer separateth chief friends.

In summary, one has to have faith in God and Jesus Christ.  Works are a byproduct of faith.   Claiming to have faith and not doing good works is false and liars get punished. So yes, James 2:14-26 is true that faith without works is dead; kind of like whether the “chicken or egg came first” analysis.  It is true we are given the gift of salvation; however, it does not justify doing evil and claiming to be holy.

Review the below. This man put trust in his works.

The Remnants

After reading various posts on a couple different religions’ views of the remnant few that are plucked from a corrupt religion, decided to write this article.

Starting with the base verse presented:

Isaiah 1:8-9King James Version (KJV)

And the daughter of Zion is left as a cottage in a vineyard, as a lodge in a garden of cucumbers, as a besieged city. Except the Lord of hosts had left unto us a very small remnant, we should have been as Sodom, and we should have been like unto Gomorrah.

Other verses of note:

Romans 9:29King James Version (KJV)

29 And as Esaias said before, Except the Lord of Sabaoth had left us a seed, we had been as Sodoma, and been made like unto Gomorrha.

One needs to read the following:

Romans 9:30-31King James Version (KJV)

30 What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, which followed not after righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith. 31 But Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, hath not attained to the law of righteousness.

The so-called “Nation of God” has strayed, starting with the Israelites and Moses, then the first century Christian church (being apostacized by Catholicism) and modern day former members of Restorationist sects making this claim.

The next passage presented:

Isaiah 1:21-24King James Version (KJV)

21 How is the faithful city become an harlot! it was full of judgment; righteousness lodged in it; but now murderers. 22 Thy silver is become dross, thy wine mixed with water: 23 Thy princes are rebellious, and companions of thieves: every one loveth gifts, and followeth after rewards: they judge not the fatherless, neither doth the cause of the widow come unto them. 24 Therefore saith the Lord, the Lord of hosts, the mighty One of Israel, Ah, I will ease me of mine adversaries, and avenge me of mine enemies:

One needs to also read this for proper context:

Isaiah 1:27-28King James Version (KJV)

27 Zion shall be redeemed with judgment, and her converts with righteousness. 28 And the destruction of the transgressors and of the sinners shall be together, and they that forsake the Lord shall be consumed.

They indicate the remnant are the “chosen” plucked by God from a corrupt organization.  Most noteworthy are Robert King ( and Greg Stafford (former Jehovah’s Witness who started “Christian Witnesses of JAH”). They hold on to basic doctrines of their religions but believe the leadership is deceiving or taking the masses astray.  They do recognize that some doctrines currently being taught are either false or twisted. One of the groups believes “an angel from the east” called them AND (although they don’t teach the following verses), Rev 7:4-8 and Rev 20:4-6 would give strength to the “remnant few”; PROVIDED these passages are used in a figurative manner (the 144,000 being a symbolic number of a chosen few; “beheaded for the witness of Jesus” meaning to endure persecution or even be killed). Where they are not correct is that the chosen few are limited to those that came from their former religion.

Dawn Bible Students broke off from Jehovah’s Witnesses because they believe Rutherford twisted the teachings of Charles Taze Russell.  Members of Church of God International broke off from a group that spawned from Iglesia Ni Cristo because the latter believed in the deity of Christ; their reason for breaking off was because the leader was a woman.

Who are the chosen?:

The Jehovah’s Witnesses do not teach Rev 7:2-3 about the angel from the east; one of the other groups does not read beyond.  All of Rev 7 is linked to the Salvation Timeline and, along with Rev 20:4-6 and 1 Thess 4:16-17 denote the composition of the church of Christ (the first resurrection and survivors of the Great Tribulation entering the Holy City described in Rev 21:1-4).

The former members of these sects use the following verse:

John 16:2King James Version (KJV)

They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service.

They also claim the prophecies of Daniel 11 and 12, and Revelation 12 apply SPECIFICALLY to their religions.  As mentioned in other articles, the 1290 days is the remaining 3.5 years of the tribulation period (this writer believes it has been in progress since 2015, given the state of world events). Some claim that Isaiah 43:5-6 refers to the Jews returning to Israel and the Great Tribulation applies only to the Middle East.

Most will agree that coming out of “Babylon” means leaving Catholicism or any religions that have doctrines similar to it. Apparently this includes things like houses of worship that have crucifixes in the chapel or promoting the celebration of Dec 25 as the birth of Christ.

Of note, the Bible prohibits worship of graven images or idolatry:

Exodus 20:4King James Version (KJV)

Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.

This is one of many in the Old Testament about graven images. The below is about idolatry

This would include stating religious leaders are infallible and the mouthpiece of God (the . Often the leadership demands obedience and not questioning at the risk of being excommunicated.  They often use the below verse:

Hebrews 13:17King James Version (KJV)

17 Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.

They cite the following as basis that their leadership is the mouthpiece of God:

Matthew 24:45King James Version (KJV)

45 Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?

Please read the following in regards to this:

Matthew 24:50-51King James Version (KJV)

50 The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of, 51 And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

It is also an “us vs them” mentality that all outside their organization are of Satan and that the only ones authorized to preach the gospel are their own clergy.  They try to instill a mentality of guilt and fear among their members (especially losing salvation once excommunicated).

Has history shown reformation or return to the pure teachings in some churches?

  1. The Protestant Reformation.  Martin Luther found some anomalies in the teaching of the Catholic Church.  Leaders of the Church still had Protestants murdered or arrested for “heresy”.  As of this point, Protestantism is divided to 40,000 denominations. The only changes in the Catholic Church occurred since the 20th century.  In the 1960s, the priests faced the audience and said Mass in the native language of the country it is located in.  Recently the Pope adopted a left wing view (such as more tolerance of LGBT and calling for a One World Religion) and suggested the idea of priests being able to marry.
  2. Restorationist churches of the 19th Century to present:
    1. Mormons. They claim that Joseph Smith is a messenger of God and use the Book of Mormon (which adds to what is written in the Bible).  They still continue despite being exposed for numerous unbiblical teachings.
    2. Seventh Day Adventists.  Most restorationist movements (Jehovah’s Witnesses, Iglesia Ni Cristo, Armstrongism being examples; INC is the only one that hold the mainstream belief of eternal torment) eminate from them or their predecessors (the Millerites). They started out with a non-Trinitarian belief but now maintain Trinitarianism since 1985. Fortunately, very little negative information is posted about them. Some Catholics are claiming ELLEN GOULD WHITE is an antichrist because the Roman numerals in her name (U=V and W=10) supposedly add up to 666 (SDA, some Born Again and Restorationist sects claim the title on the Pope’s crown “VICARIVS FILII DEI” = 666 and use Rev 13:16-17 to show making the sign of the cross is the mark of the beast).
  3. The “hour of judgment” in Rev 14:7 (1979 approx. to present)
    1. Televangelists being exposed for vices, going to prison for embezzlement, or leading a lavish lifestyle.  They STILL continue to bilk their followers.
    2. Jehovah’s Witnesses.  Many needless deaths due to their blood transfusion doctrine (using Acts 15:28-29 and Leviticus 17:11-14 to justify abstinence) including infants.  The recent string of lawsuits and investigations concerning not reporting child molestation to the police: $42M in damages awarded, $2M in fines for failure to release records, a class action suit in Canada for $66M (not to mention more millions in litigation). They subject the victims of abuse to demoralizing interrogation or even expel them. The leadership claims “apostate lies.”
    3. Exposure of harassment of former members (even including murder and stalking), corruption and so on.  They still operated and still have blind followers.

The last question: are the remnants or martyrs exclusive to one organization? No.

  1. What about those being slaughtered in the Middle East (or even in Southern Philippines) for not converting to Islam and maintaining their Christian faith?
  2. What about the Jehovah’s Witnesses murdered or beaten in Malawi Africa (1992) for refusal to obtain a government ID card? For that matter, the ones currently being arrested during raids in Russia at Kingdom Halls?
  3. What about an entire congregation gunned down in the Philippines by Japanese soldiers during World War II?
  4. What about Catholic priests being imprisoned in Poland or Hungary during the 1960s?
  5. What about the 80 people recently executed in North Korea for owning bibles?
  6. Restorationist movements appear to have started in the 19th and 20th centuries (Mormons and a number who spawned from Millerites/Seventh Day Adventists).  They claim that salvation is only in their organization and some even use Acts 20:28 as a basis for their names.  So what became of those that sacrificed themselves for Christ prior to that? What if someone has no exposure to these religions but endures the persecution for professing their faith in Christ? There are a number of countries that prohibit Christianity and, more specifically, Jehovah’s Witnesses (although they permit other Christian-practicing religions; personally, I don’t agree with some of their teachings).

Most of the religious persecution was or is in the Eastern Hemisphere and some  governments are controlled by religions. In the Western Hemisphere it is mostly stalking or trying to ruin the livelihood of former members (like reporting negative information to employers or publishing their personal information on social media).

Here is another burning question: what about the person who knows that there are erroneous teachings in his or her religion or is aware of corruption?  Those that were forcibly removed or left on their own will claim that those who remain are doomed to the lake of fire.  Through the articles in this blog that include some Chick tracts showing about religious leaders.

Examination of various religious organizations indicates they omit or twist bible verses and not one teaches EVERYTHING.  For instance, some don’t teach about the 144,000 or “an angel from the east.” Some teach that there are survivors of the Millenium (Judgment Day from the 2nd coming of Christ until the release of Satan).  It is known that very little is taught about the Seven Seals.

What about somebody who knows a church has some errors in doctrine or even cherry-picks or twists scripture?  Is this person doomed, as some of the so-called “remnants” claim? No

  1. Rom 3:23 states all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Religious leaders make mistakes.
  2. If the organization contradicts the bible, who do you follow?
  3. Exposing the works of darkness sometimes involves remaining inside the organization. The key thing is concrete proof (such as public record, access to documents).
  4. The religion may have basic teachings correct (such as the church being the body saved by Christ and it is BIBLICAL fact that one has to enter in Christ to be saved and that salvation is in no other name, and that Jesus is the mediator between God and man) but may have some minute details missing (for instance, not the entire chapter of Rev 7 is taught and very few expound on the first six seals of Rev 6).  There are also gray areas in the Bible (like the millennium, aka the 1000 years between the 2nd coming and the release of Satan from the Abyss).
  5. Some religions teach unique things (for instance, not a lot go into the detail of the Holy City in Rev 21:1-4 and 27 and only two known groups teach John 1:1 as an adjective; these two particular things put a lot in perspective, such as the so-called “paradise earth” teaching of Biblical Unitarianism and Jehovah’s Witnesses, and the former is more correct about WHEN eternal life happens).
  6. One’s behavior as a person determines whether or not they are saved.  Faith and works do go hand in hand as written in James 2; however, works are a byproduct of faith and there is a big difference between faith and belief, and even evil people have the latter. Faith, purity and sacrifice is what gets one into the first resurrection.  Works is what people are judged by in the second resurrection (Rev 20:12).

So when does one exit a church?

  1. Use of graven images or pagan practices.  Promoting Halloween (which people often dress up as demons or ghosts) at a church is a no-no.  Christmas is a gray area – some religions acknowledge that Jesus was actually born in September but don’t chastise people who do celebrate it.  It is known through secular articles that Dec 25 is the festival of the Sun God.
  2. When their teachings clearly violate the bible.
  3. If they tell someone to violate the laws of the nation. For instance, being told by leaders to commit murder, lie in court or kidnap a child (for instance, because the religion does not allow blood transfusions).  Romans 13 is specific about God putting government on earth, about obeying the law and paying taxes. If their law states to denounce your religion or change it, then it is an exception because you are giving importance to the commands of God vs men.

Other than that, what is the point?

  1. Their leaders may promote hatred of former members or of LGBT.  Does that mean that you have to follow it?
  2. They may denounce other religions (and many do; a number of Fundamentalist Right Wing Evangelicals denounce non-Trinitarians as cultists).
  3. Nobody says one has to blindly follow what is being preached. God gives us a choice to use critical thinking.
  4. Nobody says one has to let a religion control one’s life.  For instance, providing social security number or employment info is a violation of privacy. If an organization tells you to do something morally wrong and they expel you for not obeying then it is their burden.

To date: here’s a recall:

The Godhead:

  1. Fullness exists bodily (Col 2:9)
  2. Is a divine nature (NWT Col 2:9)/has qualities of God (REV Col 2:9 “the fullness of what God was”).
  3. Consists of 3 Beings that are united (“one”; 1 John 5:7, John 10:30). Some call it a Being of three persons or a spirit that manifests itself (Trinitarianism and Pentacostal Oneness).
  4. Is hierarchical (John 10:29, John 14:28 as said by Jesus that the Father is above all).
  5. The Word has the qualities of God (John 1:1 Moffatt “the Word was divine”, REV “the Word was what God was”).  Calling the entity “God” is a biblical interpretation and does not refer to the state of being of the Father (John 4:24) or Jesus (John 8:40 and many other).
  6. The Holy Spirit can be construed as a Being because a force does not teach (Luke 12:12) or appoint overseers (Acts 20:28). Even Jesus confirms it in John 16:13-14.

Jesus existed with God in the beginning (John 1:1, 6:38, 8:42, 17:5 amongst many)

Jesus transformed to flesh and bone at birth (Galatians 4:4-5 and Matt 1:18)

Jesus visited Hades (most likely the “Paradise” section; Acts 2:31)

Jesus resurrected flesh and bone (Luke 24:39) and has a glorious body (Phil 3:20-21).

Jesus is the head of the body of Christians (Col 1:18, Eph 5:23)

One has to be in Christ to be saved (John 10:9, Acts 4:10-12)

Jesus is the only mediator between God and man (1 Tim 2:5)

Hades was most likely active before Jesus’ resurrection with two parts: Paradise (based on Luke 23:40-43 maybe) and Hell (Luke 16:22-24).

Hades is probably inactive until Judgment Day (Eph 9:5-6).

“an angel from the east” (Rev 7:2-3) is linked to the calling of the 144,000 (Rev 7:4-8). Daniel 10:1 & 13 show a link between Michael and Cyrus so the possibility exists it could be Michael the Archangel. The “remnants” professed by some religious groups could be those plucked out of corrupt religions. The third seal (Rev 6:5-6) appears to coincide with the calling and the rise of the anti Christ. The office of the Papacy has been denoted as the anti Christ by some; however, others (such as Armstrongists) believe that none of the world governments have power over it.

The fourth seal (Rev 6:8) could be construed as WW1 (1/4 of the earth’s surface being involved in a world war) or WW3 (where 1/4 of the population is literally killed by sword or famine).

Hades will probably be reactivated on Judgment Day (Rev 14:10-11, Rev 20:1, 2 Peter 2:1-4). Those with the mark of the beast will most likely be tormented at least during the millennium (it is not Satan and the demons doing it; it is the holy angels overseeing it).  Satan is locked up in the Abyss during that time as are the fallen angels in Tartarus (“chains of darkness”).

The sign of the end of the Great Tribulation (Matt 24:21) and the start of the 2nd coming of Christ is contained in Matt 24:29-31. Daniel 12 defines the Great Tribulation.

The first resurrection (1 Thess 4:16-17) consists of the dead in Christ (Rev 20:4-6 being part of that), the alive that meet in the clouds (Rev 7:14-17; Rev 19:1 defines this as the great crowd).  This is the church of Christ (Matt 16:18) and the 2nd death has no power over it (Rev 20:6). Those in it are pure (Eph 5:27, Matt 5:8, Rev 14:5). All outside are judged (1 Cor 5:13).  The fifth seal (Rev 6:9-11) is coincident with this.

The opening of the 6th seal (Rev 6:12) is the start of Judgment Day.

It is apparent there may be survivors during the millennium (Rev 6:8, Rev 14:12-20) and those that Satan deceives at the end (the descendents, most likely) are consumed by fire (Rev 20:8-9).

Satan, the false prophets and the beast are thrown alive in the lake of fire (Rev 19:20, Rev 20:10). The second death (Rev 20:14, Rev 21:8) does not apply to them since they are not mortal; therefore their being tormented forever applies.

The last chance for salvation is the final judgment (Rev 20:12-13). It is possible only 100 million make it to that point (Daniel 7:10).  According to Rom 2:14-16 we are judged according to the law. Those in the book of life are allowed to enter the Holy City (Rev 21:27).

It is possible for “Paradise Earth” but only after final judgment (Rev 21:1-4 describes the Holy City and it coming down to the new heaven and earth; 2 Peter 3:13 defines the new heaven and earth).

Those not found in the book of life are tossed in the lake of fire (Rev 20:15).  Hades ceases to exist at this time (Rev 20:14). Whether or not they are tormented forever (most Trinitarianism, Iglesia Ni Cristo) or cease to exist (SDA, JW, Armstrongism, most Unitarianism) is something we would rather not find out.

Revelation 12 Analysis

Let’s examine it

Revelation 12King James Version (KJV)

12 And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars: And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered. And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads. And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born. And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne. And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days. And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. 10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. 11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. 12 Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time. 13 And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child. 14 And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent. 15 And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood. 16 And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth. 17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

Verse 5 refers to Mary giving birth to Jesus.

Compare Verse 6 to the 3 1/2 years before the Great Tribulation.

Daniel 12:11-13King James Version (KJV)

11 And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days. 12 Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days. 13 But go thou thy way till the end be: for thou shalt rest, and stand in thy lot at the end of the days.

Revelation 11:3King James Version (KJV)

And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.

Examine Rev 11.

The remainder of Rev 12 refers to the end times. very detailed analysis of the chapter.

What is interesting about the second article is there will be remnants who remain true to the faith and not have been apostatized.

The below is from a link on the third article

Revelation 13:11-14King James Version (KJV)

11 And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon. 12 And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. 13 And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, 14 And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.

Bible: Literal or Figurative

This list will obviously grow since it could be nearly infinite.

1 Cor 15:50 is used for the Jehovah’s Witness belief that Jesus was resurrected as a spirit being (studies have shown that Luke 24:39 shows He was flesh and bone, John 20:27 indicated no blood and 1 Cor 15:50-58 is a transformation from an earthly body to a glorious body).

1 Corinthians 15:50King James Version (KJV)

50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.

Reading the below:

John 6:50-61 King James Version (KJV)

50 This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die. 51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world. 52 The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying, How can this man give us his flesh to eat? 53 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. 54 Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. 55 For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. 56 He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him. 57 As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me. 58 This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever. 59 These things said he in the synagogue, as he taught in Capernaum. 60 Many therefore of his disciples, when they had heard this, said, This is an hard saying; who can hear it? 61 When Jesus knew in himself that his disciples murmured at it, he said unto them, Doth this offend you?

Is that a literal flesh? The intent of “flesh” in 1 Cor 15:50 would be more like the corrupt nature of humans.

The qualities of the 144,000:

Revelation 7:4King James Version (KJV)

And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.

Revelation 14:4-5King James Version (KJV)

These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb. And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God.

If the above were taken literally, the 144,000 would be Jewish male virgins.  Does that exclude women from being part of the chosen?  This leads into the below:

Revelation 20:4King James Version (KJV)

And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

Would the above be more correct in stating that the chosen are ones that sacrificed themselves for Christ? (such as being persecuted, imprisoned or killed by some other means). For that matter, are there literally 144,000 chosen?

Revelation 20:10King James Version (KJV)

10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

Revelation 19:20King James Version (KJV)

20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.

The burning question here is whether or not the lake of fire is literal or figurative (a spiritual or mental torment).

Consider the below in the argument:

Ecclesiastes 12:7King James Version (KJV)

Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.

Psalm 119:25King James Version (KJV)

25 My soul cleaveth unto the dust: quicken thou me according to thy word.

Also, the word “souls” is contained in Rev 20:4

1 Peter 1:9King James Version (KJV)

Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.

Revelation 20:14King James Version (KJV)

14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

Satan, the beast and false prophet are not mortal beings.  For that matter, the beast and false prophet may be those associated with a title.  Just like the anti-Christ (which is thought among a number of Christians to be the Pope as shown by “VICARIVS FILII DEI”;  there are numerous Popes).  One end of Christianity (Fundamentalism) maintains that the lake of fire is literal and the other end maintains it is symbolic. If it is literal, what kind of body will be inherited by those who are thrown in the lake of fire (including Satan, the beast and false prophets)? Lastly, death and hell (or Hades) are not literal beings (the depiction of “Death” is a hooded spirit with a sickle and Hades is the realm of the dead or the common grave of mankind – the physical place in which it resides, the bowels of the earth, can’t be thrown into the lake of fire or are they stating it becomes part of it).

Revelation 7:2-3King James Version (KJV)

And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea, Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.

Revelation 2King James Version (KJV)

Unto the angel of the church of Ephesus write; These things saith he that holdeth the seven stars in his right hand, who walketh in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks; I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars:

The entire chapter of Rev 2 is used to justify an angel is a human.  Rev 7:2 with Isaiah 43:5-6, Isaiah 46:11, Matt 24:6-21 is part of a prophesy of gathering of the chosen and world events are tied to it.  But Daniel 10:1 & 13 also could indicate that a literal angel works through a human; along this line, given the false prophet is a “fallen angel, ” it could be working through a human to propagate a false gospel (which is prevalent with some mega-pastors who make millions using the name of Jesus).

Prohibition in Consumption: OT vs NT

Some religions prohibit the eating of blood or certain flesh meats and even on certain days.  For instance, Seventh Day Adventists and a few “Churches of God” prohibit pork, shellfish, rabbit (or other rodents) and birds of prey.  Prohibition of eating blood exists in a number of religions.  Catholics are prohibited from eating meat on Friday during Lent or certain holy weeks but yet are not forbidden from eating blood. There is a caveat: members of these religions generally have better health.

A number of bible verses are in the Old Testament about these prohibitions but do they still hold in the New Testament?

Eating blood:

Leviticus 17:11-14King James Version (KJV)

11 For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul. 12 Therefore I said unto the children of Israel, No soul of you shall eat blood, neither shall any stranger that sojourneth among you eat blood. 13 And whatsoever man there be of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn among you, which hunteth and catcheth any beast or fowl that may be eaten; he shall even pour out the blood thereof, and cover it with dust. 14 For it is the life of all flesh; the blood of it is for the life thereof: therefore I said unto the children of Israel, Ye shall eat the blood of no manner of flesh: for the life of all flesh is the blood thereof: whosoever eateth it shall be cut off.

NT –

Acts 15:29King James Version (KJV)

29 That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well.

The Jehovah’s Witnesses use this to prohibit blood transfusions and equate it to eating blood; however, the below pertains to eating:

Matthew 15:17King James Version (KJV)

17 Do not ye yet understand, that whatsoever entereth in at the mouth goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the draught?

A symptom of a bleeding ulcer is black stools.  Yes there is a risk in a blood transfusion because the donor may have infected blood BUT the word “transfusion” did not exist in biblical times.

Prohibition of eating certain food:

Leviticus 11King James Version (KJV)

11 And the Lord spake unto Moses and to Aaron, saying unto them, Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, These are the beasts which ye shall eat among all the beasts that are on the earth. Whatsoever parteth the hoof, and is clovenfooted, and cheweth the cud, among the beasts, that shall ye eat. Nevertheless these shall ye not eat of them that chew the cud, or of them that divide the hoof: as the camel, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you. And the coney, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you. And the hare, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you. And the swine, though he divide the hoof, and be clovenfooted, yet he cheweth not the cud; he is unclean to you. Of their flesh shall ye not eat, and their carcase shall ye not touch; they are unclean to you. These shall ye eat of all that are in the waters: whatsoever hath fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, them shall ye eat. 10 And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any living thing which is in the waters, they shall be an abomination unto you: 11 They shall be even an abomination unto you; ye shall not eat of their flesh, but ye shall have their carcases in abomination. 12 Whatsoever hath no fins nor scales in the waters, that shall be an abomination unto you. 13 And these are they which ye shall have in abomination among the fowls; they shall not be eaten, they are an abomination: the eagle, and the ossifrage, and the ospray, 14 And the vulture, and the kite after his kind; 15 Every raven after his kind; 16 And the owl, and the night hawk, and the cuckow, and the hawk after his kind, 17 And the little owl, and the cormorant, and the great owl, 18 And the swan, and the pelican, and the gier eagle, 19 And the stork, the heron after her kind, and the lapwing, and the bat. 20 All fowls that creep, going upon all four, shall be an abomination unto you. 21 Yet these may ye eat of every flying creeping thing that goeth upon all four, which have legs above their feet, to leap withal upon the earth; 22 Even these of them ye may eat; the locust after his kind, and the bald locust after his kind, and the beetle after his kind, and the grasshopper after his kind. 23 But all other flying creeping things, which have four feet, shall be an abomination unto you. 24 And for these ye shall be unclean: whosoever toucheth the carcase of them shall be unclean until the even. 25 And whosoever beareth ought of the carcase of them shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even. 26 The carcases of every beast which divideth the hoof, and is not clovenfooted, nor cheweth the cud, are unclean unto you: every one that toucheth them shall be unclean. 27 And whatsoever goeth upon his paws, among all manner of beasts that go on all four, those are unclean unto you: whoso toucheth their carcase shall be unclean until the even. 28 And he that beareth the carcase of them shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even: they are unclean unto you. 29 These also shall be unclean unto you among the creeping things that creep upon the earth; the weasel, and the mouse, and the tortoise after his kind, 30 And the ferret, and the chameleon, and the lizard, and the snail, and the mole. 31 These are unclean to you among all that creep: whosoever doth touch them, when they be dead, shall be unclean until the even. 32 And upon whatsoever any of them, when they are dead, doth fall, it shall be unclean; whether it be any vessel of wood, or raiment, or skin, or sack, whatsoever vessel it be, wherein any work is done, it must be put into water, and it shall be unclean until the even; so it shall be cleansed.

Deuteronomy 14King James Version (KJV)

14 Ye are the children of the Lord your God: ye shall not cut yourselves, nor make any baldness between your eyes for the dead. For thou art an holy people unto the Lord thy God, and the Lord hath chosen thee to be a peculiar people unto himself, above all the nations that are upon the earth. Thou shalt not eat any abominable thing. These are the beasts which ye shall eat: the ox, the sheep, and the goat,  The hart, and the roebuck, and the fallow deer, and the wild goat, and the pygarg, and the wild ox, and the chamois. And every beast that parteth the hoof, and cleaveth the cleft into two claws, and cheweth the cud among the beasts, that ye shall eat. Nevertheless these ye shall not eat of them that chew the cud, or of them that divide the cloven hoof; as the camel, and the hare, and the coney: for they chew the cud, but divide not the hoof; therefore they are unclean unto you. And the swine, because it divideth the hoof, yet cheweth not the cud, it is unclean unto you: ye shall not eat of their flesh, nor touch their dead carcase. These ye shall eat of all that are in the waters: all that have fins and scales shall ye eat: 10 And whatsoever hath not fins and scales ye may not eat; it is unclean unto you. 11 Of all clean birds ye shall eat. 12 But these are they of which ye shall not eat: the eagle, and the ossifrage, and the ospray, 13 And the glede, and the kite, and the vulture after his kind, 14 And every raven after his kind, 15 And the owl, and the night hawk, and the cuckow, and the hawk after his kind, 16 The little owl, and the great owl, and the swan, 17 And the pelican, and the gier eagle, and the cormorant, 18 And the stork, and the heron after her kind, and the lapwing, and the bat. 19 And every creeping thing that flieth is unclean unto you: they shall not be eaten. 20 But of all clean fowls ye may eat. 21 Ye shall not eat of anything that dieth of itself: thou shalt give it unto the stranger that is in thy gates, that he may eat it; or thou mayest sell it unto an alien: for thou art an holy people unto the Lord thy God. Thou shalt not seethe a kid in his mother’s milk. 22 Thou shalt truly tithe all the increase of thy seed, that the field bringeth forth year by year. hath no part nor inheritance with thee.

So in short, these two verses indicate that pork, rabbit (and other rodents), horses, four pawed (dogs, cats), shellfish, birds of prey or insects are prohibited from being eaten.

NT –

1 Timothy 4:1-4King James Version (KJV)

Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:

This particular passage states that commanding to abstain from meats is a doctrine of the devil.

Acts 11:4-9New International Version (NIV)

Starting from the beginning, Peter told them the whole story: “I was in the city of Joppa praying, and in a trance I saw a vision. I saw something like a large sheet being let down from heaven by its four corners, and it came down to where I was. I looked into it and saw four-footed animals of the earth, wild beasts, reptiles and birds. Then I heard a voice telling me, ‘Get up, Peter. Kill and eat.’ “I replied, ‘Surely not, Lord! Nothing impure or unclean has ever entered my mouth.’ “The voice spoke from heaven a second time, ‘Do not call anything impure that God has made clean.’

Colossians 2:16King James Version (KJV)

16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:

Colossians 2:20-22King James Version (KJV)

20 Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances, 21 (Touch not; taste not; handle not; 22 Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men?

It goes hand in hand with 1 Tim 4:1-4.  Along these lines, in the Old Testament it was commanded to tithe 10 percent but in the New Testament we are taught to offer willingly from our heart.

Mark 7:18-19King James Version (KJV)

18 And he saith unto them, Are ye so without understanding also? Do ye not perceive, that whatsoever thing from without entereth into the man, it cannot defile him; 19 Because it entereth not into his heart, but into the belly, and goeth out into the draught, purging all meats?

Matthew 15:11King James Version (KJV)

11 Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.

Romans 14:17King James Version (KJV)

17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

So eating blood is prohibited in both the Old and New Testament.

No evidence shown where certain foods are prohibited in the New Testament.  In fact, it is a doctrine of the devil to command to abstain from flesh meat. Some of the countering verses about abstaining from certain meat come from a Catholic source.  The religions that observe prohibition of certain food or observing Sabbath (SDA, CCG, Armstrongism, Judaism) are not wrong in doing so because it IS written in the Old Testament.

The religions that observe Sabbath also claim that Sunday worship is the mark of the beast.  One has to remember if they want to get technical, all days of the week names are of pagan origin. The below is mainstream Christianity’s justification for Sunday worship:

Acts 20:7 King James Version (KJV)

And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight.

Along these lines, the Jehovah’s Witnesses and Armstrongism don’t celebrate birthdays because John the Baptist’s head was served on a platter to the Pharaoh’s daughter. about the various practices of religions.  Among professing Christians, Seventh Day Adventists, Armstrongists and Christian Churches of God practice some form of dietary restriction. more on dietary restriction.

Pork has to be well done to prevent parasitic diseases and some people have allergic reactions to shell fish.  Both are very high in cholesterol.  There are some cultures that eat dogs and cats but a majority of people consider it appalling to do so.

Sometimes dietary restrictions can improve your health but one should be skeptical if your religion expels you for eating unclean food.

Some religions practice abstinence when it comes to alcohol consumption and others are ok with moderate consumption but not getting drunk.

Ephesians 5:18King James Version (KJV)

18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;

Leviticus 10:9King James Version (KJV)

Do not drink wine nor strong drink, thou, nor thy sons with thee, when ye go into the tabernacle of the congregation, lest ye die: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations:

Don’t drink wine before going to a house of worship is basically what it says.

Numbers 6:2-4King James Version (KJV)

Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When either man or woman shall separate themselves to vow a vow of a Nazarite, to separate themselves unto the LordHe shall separate himself from wine and strong drink, and shall drink no vinegar of wine, or vinegar of strong drink, neither shall he drink any liquor of grapes, nor eat moist grapes, or dried. All the days of his separation shall he eat nothing that is made of the vine tree, from the kernels even to the husk.

Sounds like abstinence when taking a form of religious vow. The below follows.

Numbers 6:20King James Version (KJV)

20 And the priest shall wave them for a wave offering before the Lord: this is holy for the priest, with the wave breast and heave shoulder: and after that the Nazarite may drink wine.

“Getting drunk” can also refer to over eating.

The below pertain to gluttony and drunkenness (a Bible Gateway keyword search on the word “glutton”).

For the drunkard and the glutton shall come to poverty: and drowsiness shall clothe a man with rags.

The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold a man gluttonous, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners. But wisdom is justified of her children.

The Son of man is come eating and drinking; and ye say, Behold a gluttonous man, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners!
The below is an interesting thought on moderation:

Philippians 4:4-6King James Version (KJV)Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice. Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

The below can be a point for abstinence:

1 Thessalonians 5:22King James Version (KJV)

22 Abstain from all appearance of evil.

Some would use it to say you can’t drink alcohol because the temptation to get drunk exists. Or to smoke marijuana?  So, should we not eat because the temptation of gluttony exists?

This is what the bible says about health:

Acts 27:33-35King James Version (KJV)

33 And while the day was coming on, Paul besought them all to take meat, saying, This day is the fourteenth day that ye have tarried and continued fasting, having taken nothing. 34 Wherefore I pray you to take some meat: for this is for your health: for there shall not an hair fall from the head of any of you. 35 And when he had thus spoken, he took bread, and gave thanks to God in presence of them all: and when he had broken it, he began to eat.

So if you read into it, protein is needed.

Here is a verse about wine and health:

1 Timothy 5:23New International Version (NIV)

23 Stop drinking only water, and use a little wine because of your stomach and your frequent illnesses.

The two videos below are a Biblical Unitarian view on alcohol and marijuana.

To sum it up:

Do things in moderation and do them for your own health. Can’t go wrong with fish and chicken.  Tuna actually has more protein than beef and not as fishy tasting as sardines or mackerel (although the latter two have higher Omega-3 fatty acids and that is better for one’s health).

Excessive alcohol consumption can lead to cirrhosis of the liver and at the least a high triglyceride level (remember the liver is what processes not only alcohol but fats). Also, certain medications prescribed state not to consume alcohol.  Listen to your doctor!

Studies have shown that a glass of red wine every now and then lowers your blood pressure and beer is actually better for your health than soft drinks.  Sometimes abstinence is better for one’s health more than anything. Also remember that most states a blood alcohol concentration of .08 is considered “Driving Under the Influence” and one should consider that generally there is going to be one night in jail, $1500 bail, about $2400 every 6 months for automobile liability insurance (for 3 years), suspension of driver’s license, possible loss of security clearance and/or employment, disciplinary action (if in the military).

Tobacco and marijuana are not written in the Bible but both have harmful effects.  They say that medicinal marijuana cures gout. Smoking anything ingests carcinogens into your lungs and bloodstream.  For that matter, the so-called “e-cigarettes” are just as harmful. Also, some jobs and the military can subject one to random urinalysis for THC (the component in marijuana) and that can result in loss of employment or (for the military) an other than honorable discharge; this limits employment choices.

The Biblical Unitarians (  have this thought about use of alcohol and marijuana: for the purpose of medicine it’s OK but for the purpose of mind-altering (“catching a buzz” or intoxication) it is wrong.  Think about this: mouthwash and cough syrup have small quantities of alcohol in them. When we go to the dentist for a wisdom tooth extraction we often get Tylenol III, which contains Codeine (a narcotic).

On to meat: Pork ribs and shellfish contain a lot of cholesterol.  Roast beef is much more lean than ground beef – eat a French Dip instead of a hamburger.  It has also been stated that Tilapia is the worst fish to eat, healthwise.

White rice and large quantities of cake and bread contribute to triglycerides and high blood sugar. A bowl of Vietnamese pho soup jacks up blood sugar.  Carbohydrates are necessary when preparing for a long distance running event (why marathon runners eat a lot of spaghetti the night before), though.  The body burns carbs first and then fat. After that, muscle.

Eating rare steak does not constitute eating blood nor does eating sushi do so. Eating pork anything less than well done is a health hazard.  There is always a risk of parasites.

One man did 30 days of eating nothing but McDonald’s food and had serious health issues.

They say eggs are high in cholesterol but they also have protein.  Once or twice a week is OK.

Going vegetarian for a weekend resulted in a lower blood pressure reading on Monday morning.  One has to have protein of some sort, though.

One would be surprised how much weight can be lost by simply cutting out sugared soft drinks and candy.  Even diet drinks are bad – aspartame is poisonous and causes cancer; Pepsi has used a new artificial sweetener.  Stevia is being offered in lieu of sugar at coffee houses.  There is one brand of Sprite-ish drink that uses Stevia instead of sugar.  Coca Cola had one drink in green cans that used Stevia and had half the calories.

So just MAYBE Leviticus 11 and Deuteronomy 14 were more of a health concern.  It doesn’t say you are doomed to the lake of fire if you eat a ham sandwich with your left hand.

Common sense, people! It is simple: don’t do drugs unless prescribed by a doctor, don’t inhale poison into your lungs, do other things in moderation.

Signs of Christ’s 2nd Coming

Other posts have determined that it occurs after the Great Tribulation.

Daniel 12:11-12King James Version (KJV)

11 And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days. 12 Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days.

Revelation 6:9-11King James Version (KJV)

And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held: 10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? 11 And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.

Revelation 7:14-17King James Version (KJV)

14 And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. 15 Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them. 16 They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat. 17 For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.

The signs signaling the end of the Great Tribulation and 2nd coming:

Matthew 24:29-31King James Version (KJV)

29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: 30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

Joel 2:31King James Version (KJV)

31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of the Lord come.

Acts 2:20King James Version (KJV)

20 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and notable day of the Lord come:

Revelation 6:12King James Version (KJV)

12 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;

The coming will be pronounced:

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17King James Version (KJV)

16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

The dead rise first and then after that the alive meet in the clouds.

It will be like a thief in the night:

2 Peter 3:10King James Version (KJV)

10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

Not even Jesus knows the hour of His coming:

Matthew 24:36King James Version (KJV)

36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

With all the above being said, there seems to be many things that people are trying to use to predict the date of the “Rapture.”  A blood moon happened Sept 27, 2015.

This year a number of doomsdayers are predicting Sept 23, 2017 as the “Rapture” based on a major solar eclipse on Aug 21 – issue is that it travels in a southeasterly diagonal from Washington state to Florida.

The latest chain of events as of this writing is North Korea threatening a nuclear missile strike on Guam mid August.

Certain other things have to occur first:

Revelation 14:6-7King James Version (KJV)

And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.

The gospel has to be preached.  Rev 14:6 would be evident in the number of non-mainstream religions that have emerged in the 19th and 20th centuries (Mormonism, 7th Day Adventists, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Iglesia Ni Cristo, Armstrongism, Members of Church of God International, International Church of Christ, Biblical Unitarianism, Christian Churches of God, etc).  The question is which preach the true gospel.

Rev 14:7 would be exposure of religious leaders of various “Christian-professing”  sects.  Remember from previous studies that an hour in heaven is 41 years and 8 months.  In the late 1970s, televangelists have been exposed for vices and misdeeds.  Catholic priests have been exposed (and  their leadership is taking action). It has extended to non-mainstream religions in the past 10 years or so.

Worldwide wars and rumors of wars (Matt 24:6-8) have been happening since 1914.  The final war and famine will kill 1/4 of the population of the earth (Rev 6:8) before the Great Tribulation is finished.

The calling of the 144,000 in Rev 7:2-8 has to be complete.

At the time of the 2nd coming is the fall of Babylon (Rev 14:8).

During the millennium the gospel is preached (Rev 14:12-20) but not by religious leaders, rather the 144,000.

Revelation 14:14King James Version (KJV)

14 And I looked, and behold a white cloud, and upon the cloud one sat like unto the Son of man, having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp sickle.

The SDA take is verse 14 is the 2nd coming given they believe no life exists during the millennium; however, verses 9-11 are the torment of those with the mark of the beast (which starts on Judgment Day, as shown in other articles).  Those that believe in a first resurrection only salvation also believe verses 12 and 13 are about enduring to the end.

Can One Really Sell His/Her Soul

It has been stated that people sell their souls to Satan in exchange for fame and fortune. – but can you really “sell your soul to Satan” and is it irrevocable? For that matter, is the “mark of the beast” also irrevocable?  Biblically not, according to the above article.

According to this young man (who is evidently a 7th Day Adventist), no.

We do have a choice of following good or evil. Or at least we start out that way.  But where does it deviate?

Truthfully, this can be extended to religious organizations.  Two cases:

  1. A member has some sort of fault or misdeed known by the leadership.  The RIGHT way is for the person to be given a chance to come clean or face the consequences; in other words, correct the error.  The wrong way is to coerce the person to do something sinful in exchange for keeping the fault quiet; example would be to defame former members of the religion (even to the point of lying), or be turned in to the authorities and possibly be publicly humiliated (in other words “do this or we will expose you”).
  2. The organization (or a member) has a fault or misdeed that is known to some.  If someone  accepts a bribe to bear false witness or cause harm then it would be classified as “selling one’s soul to Satan.”

Matthew 5:43-48New International Version (NIV)

43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor[a] and hate your enemy.’ 44 But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. 46 If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? 47 And if you greet only your own people, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? 48 Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

Romans 12:21New International Version (NIV)

21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

1 Peter 3:8-10New International Version (NIV)

Finally, all of you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble. Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing.

Colossians 3:8New International Version (NIV)

But now you must also rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips.

With all these in mind, we have the choice of doing what is right or wrong.  God gives you the ability to critically think and you have a conscience.

There are some pretty horrifying things that those who supposedly “sell themselves to Satan” have to do. Street gang initiations are classified among this.

  1. Sodomy being forced on people of either sex.
  2. Being forced to eat feces.
  3. Participating in Satanic rituals that involve animal or human sacrifice.
  4. Doing vandalism or arson.
  5. Committing murder.
  6. Being forced to harm themselves.
  7. Engaging in bestiality.
  8. Engaging in acts of violence.

Initiations are one thing and should be in good taste.  The military and colleges have rites of passage.  So do certain societies.  Even sports teams have some sort of initiation. They are done with a purpose in mind.

  1. Eating disgusting food such as “truth serum.”
  2. Doing foolish things or harmless pranks (such as singing a school fight song at 3 AM).
  3. Being forced to take a spanking on the buttocks.
  4. Physical endurance tests.
  5. In the military, basic training, Special Forces (SEALS, Rangers, Delta Force) are meant to test the physical limits and mental limits of their personnel.

So, getting back to “selling your soul to Satan”…………. What is “soul?”

1. the spirit or immaterial part of man, the seat of human personality, intellect, will, and emotions, regarded as an entity that survives the body after death. related adjective: pneumatic.

2.  (Christianity) the spiritual part of a person, capable of redemption from the power of sin through divine grace.

3.  the essential part or fundamental nature of anything.

Biblically, based on 1 Thess 5:23, we have 3 parts: body, spirit  and soul.  Upon death, the spirit returns to God, the body to dust (Eccl 12:7) and the soul clings to dust (Ps 119:25).

For all practical purposes, the “soul” is our mind.  Read the below verses.

Ezekiel 18:20King James Version (KJV)20 The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.

Hebrews 9:27King James Version (KJV)

27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

Does your physical body actually sin? Or is your mind commanding its  actions the one that sins?  Sometimes we THINK about doing something wrong but do we carry it out?  Do demons or angels possess our minds to the point where they control it? One article that could identify demon possession with bible verses Angel possession – only by the will of God. Demons are “fallen angels.”

The frontal lobes of one’s brain controls the emotions.  Let’s say we see someone in a supermarket line that has a rather attractive feature.  Arousal (or lack thereof) would be involuntary.  What causes one not to go up to the person and not rip his or her clothes off and attempt sexual relations?

What is it that causes a person to be a moron or a genius? What causes someone to be born mentally retarded, with Asperger’s Syndrome or autism? -it is said that Serotonin controls a number of bodily functions, including thought process.  Lack of it is a sign of depression.  Certain hallucinogenic drugs such as LSD (C20H25N30 chemical) cause a marked increase in serotonin levels, causing hallucinations.   Bipolar disorder is caused by a chemical imbalance and generally the treatment is either Risperidone or Lithium. – an example of a disorder of not knowing right vs wrong.
Hypothyroidism aggravates depression.
It has been said that people who are gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender are born that way.  There are some heterosexuals who have these kind of thoughts but do not act them out. Likewise, what is the difference between a promiscuous person and one that is monogamous?
Many of the above factors can contribute to “selling one’s soul to Satan.”  Bottom line is it is all mental.  Watch the below videos.  About a Christian band that hits the big time.   About 4 brothers where one becomes a big name preacher and another a humble pastor at a homeless shelter.
What about cults like Jim Jones, Scientology and some religions?
So what motivates people to supposedly “sell their souls?”:
1. Need (food, shelter, clothing, friendship)
2.  Wants (material things, the desire to be “saved” in the case of religion, notoriety).
3.  Survival.
4. Lack of hope (for instance, the belief that suicide is the only solution or they believe they are not in control of their situation).
5.  Fear (leaving the situation could supposedly be detrimental).
6.  Rewards (money, apparent “salvation”).
The ones leading these people use the following:
1. Promises of prosperity or salvation.
2.  Mental control (a prime example would be an elephant being retained by a small rope).
a. Fear (for instance, if you don’t do what they tell you, you will die or not be saved, or they will damage your reputation)
b. Reinforcement/deprivation (material things, pleasure – physical or emotional, association of negative things with not doing what they want – such as electric shock for certain behaviors).
c. Use of drugs or alcohol (one can’t think clearly under influence).  Some celebrities have addiction.
d. Getting one to think those outside the organization are undesirable (and even in entertainment, the powers that be select who their subordinates date or marry).
So how does one break out of the control?
1. Some event causes this person to think rationally.  This could be the loss of a loved one, a rash of personal financial issues,  or exposure of anomalies within an organization.
2. Intervention by an outside source.  The same logic can be used to help someone combat substance abuse.
So what is a controlling factor that would keep the person in the situation? (besides reasons 1-6 under “motivation”)
1. Cognitive dissonance – the belief that the truth is a lie and vice versa or ignoring “black and white facts.”
2. Level of intelligence.
3.  Mental state (such as depression).
4.  Substance abuse or brain damage caused by it.
5. Concern about what others think.
Sometimes fanatics within the organization will coerce or even kill the individual.  The other side effect is a person renews his or her life.
Is there any truth to a so-called “Illuminati hit,” where someone meets an untimely natural death (by heart attack, for instance)?  Satan does not control when we die.  He may influence a violent death and God may let it happen because it is “one’s time.”
“Selling one’s soul” even involves suicide. If you kill yourself, Satan has won the battle.
What about a “near death experience,” drug-induced hallucination where someone supposedly hears the voice of God, or a dream where someone visits the lake of fire or heaven?  These things, although in the mind, are so profound that someone makes a life change.  They can’t be ignored.
One can’t ignore signs, because God DOES send them as a reminder for us to straighten our lives out (and NDEs or something encountered in a hallucination or dream).
Here is a passage related to “selling one’s soul” and it shows that a so-called “contract” can be reversed.

Isaiah 28:15-18King James Version (KJV)15 Because ye have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us: for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves: 16 Therefore thus saith the Lord God, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste. 17 Judgment also will I lay to the line, and righteousness to the plummet: and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding place. 18 And your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, then ye shall be trodden down by it.

End Times Prophecy

In this post we will attempt to analyze Daniel 7 and 12, but before we start, please review the following article:

Daniel 7King James Version (KJV)

In the first year of Belshazzar king of Babylon Daniel had a dream and visions of his head upon his bed: then he wrote the dream, and told the sum of the matters. Daniel spake and said, I saw in my vision by night, and, behold, the four winds of the heaven strove upon the great sea. And four great beasts came up from the sea, diverse one from another. The first was like a lion, and had eagle’s wings: I beheld till the wings thereof were plucked, and it was lifted up from the earth, and made stand upon the feet as a man, and a man’s heart was given to it. And behold another beast, a second, like to a bear, and it raised up itself on one side, and it had three ribs in the mouth of it between the teeth of it: and they said thus unto it, Arise, devour much flesh. After this I beheld, and lo another, like a leopard, which had upon the back of it four wings of a fowl; the beast had also four heads; and dominion was given to it. After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns. I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things. I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire. 10 A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened. 11 I beheld then because of the voice of the great words which the horn spake: I beheld even till the beast was slain, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning flame. 12 As concerning the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken away: yet their lives were prolonged for a season and time. 13 I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him. 14 And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed. 15 I Daniel was grieved in my spirit in the midst of my body, and the visions of my head troubled me.  16 I came near unto one of them that stood by, and asked him the truth of all this. So he told me, and made me know the interpretation of the things. 17 These great beasts, which are four, are four kings, which shall arise out of the earth. 18 But the saints of the most High shall take the kingdom, and possess the kingdom for ever, even for ever and ever. 19 Then I would know the truth of the fourth beast, which was diverse from all the others, exceeding dreadful, whose teeth were of iron, and his nails of brass; which devoured, brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with his feet; 20 And of the ten horns that were in his head, and of the other which came up, and before whom three fell; even of that horn that had eyes, and a mouth that spake very great things, whose look was more stout than his fellows. 21 I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them; 22 Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom. 23 Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces. 24 And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings. 25 And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time. 26 But the judgment shall sit, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto the end. 27 And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him. 28 Hitherto is the end of the matter. As for me Daniel, my cogitations much troubled me, and my countenance changed in me: but I kept the matter in my heart.

Daniel 7 relates to the Seven Seals of Revelation and the four beasts and Judgment Day.

From that study, it was determined the second beast is quite possibly the UN and the Federal Reserve.  The rise and fall of communism (the Bear) was 1918-1989 and the US and USSR were major super powers during that time.

Numerous articles seem to concur that the third beast is Greece.  Also, it is possible that this gives rise to the Catholic Church,  given that the third beast in Rev 6 is a man (the Pope).

Verse 10 would seem to indicate only 100 million of the earth’s population would make it to the white throne judgment.  There are 1.2 billion Catholics in the world and the mark of the beast (Rev 13:16-17) is fulfilled by the sign of the cross (placing of the right hand of the forehead); furthermore, there are others will accept a mark of the beast in a different form just to survive (and this could include wearing of certain symbology).  Lastly, don’t forget those who “sold their souls” to Satan for fame and fortune – please read the below link; it IS reversible.

The fourth beast in Verse 23 coincides with the beast in Rev 13.  The below article seems to concur it is Rome.  Also it coincides with Rev 6:7 and the opening of the fourth seal.  The “one world government” and “one world religion,” along with the mark of the beast all fit into this.  Please read the below: the stage is set.

Daniel 12King James Version (KJV)  –

12 And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book. And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever. But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased. Then I Daniel looked, and, behold, there stood other two, the one on this side of the bank of the river, and the other on that side of the bank of the river. And one said to the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, How long shall it be to the end of these wonders? And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished. And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the end of these things? And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end. 10 Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.

Daniel 12 is the end times and doesn’t appear to be chronological. Verses 1 and 2 are the resurrection of both the wicked and the righteous; however it doesn’t specify first or second.  Verse 10 would possibly apply to the millennium because that is the last chance for people to come to God at a time when there is no evil. Verse 11 through the end is the 3.5 years of the Great Tribulation (the last half of the 7 year period). It was also mentioned in “The Seven Seals of Revelation” article.

Job 21:30King James Version (KJV)

30 That the wicked is reserved to the day of destruction? they shall be brought forth to the day of wrath.

Could the two witnesses do their preaching during the 3.5 year period of the Great Tribulation only to be killed two months beforehand? Possibly…..  Who are they? this might be a worthy article to explore.

Revelation 11:3-7New International Version (NIV)

And I will appoint my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for 1,260 days, clothed in sackcloth.” They are “the two olive trees” and the two lampstands, and “they stand before the Lord of the earth.”[a] If anyone tries to harm them, fire comes from their mouths and devours their enemies. This is how anyone who wants to harm them must die. They have power to shut up the heavens so that it will not rain during the time they are prophesying; and they have power to turn the waters into blood and to strike the earth with every kind of plague as often as they want. Now when they have finished their testimony, the beast that comes up from the Abyss will attack them, and overpower and kill them.

Daniel 7:10 would seem to indicate that only 100 million will make it to the White Throne Judgment in Rev 20:12.  Who could the “thousand thousands ministering before him” be? Religious leaders, maybe?

Daniel 7:13-14 and Daniel 12:12-13 could both tie together as the 2nd coming of Jesus.

The below is the sign of the Great Tribulation and 2nd Coming

Matthew 24:21-22King James Version (KJV)

21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.

Acts 14:22 King James Version (KJV)

22 Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.

How interesting that verse 31 also concurs with 1 Thess 4:16-17.  Interestingly enough, the angels of Christ coincide with the four winds in Rev 7:2-3.  The 144,000 in Rev 7:4 are the select (Rev 20:4-6 defines the first resurrection).

Matthew 24:32-36King James Version (KJV)

32 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: 33 So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. 34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled. 35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. 36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

Verses 32-36 are the Second Coming.  Don’t need to expound on the rest of Matt 24. Some believe that the start of WW1 is fulfillment of Matt 24:6 as the start of the End Times.  It is rather true the world has more or less been at war since then, with the exception being the period between the end of WW1 and start of WW2 (mathematically “silence in heaven space of half hour” in Rev 8:1; the remainder of Rev 8 portrays the difficult times ahead).

Here are some thoughts:

Some were claiming the 7 year tribulation period started in 2009 (with the swearing in of Obama and the death of a religious leader).  The issue is that 2016 has passed already and the world is way much worse.

A certain religious organization estimates the start of the 1290  days of Dan 12:11 to be approx. July 2015.  This would put the 45 days between Dan 12:11 and 12:12 at Feb 2019.

The current Pope assumed office Mar 13, 2013.  What is unusual is the first time a Pope has abdicated (Benedict).  Pope Francis has been promoting unity among religions since Sept 2015.  He is also the first liberal Pope.  A couple other things is that he has proclaimed that Jesus’ actual birthdate is not Dec 25 and is more open about LGBT.  If we assume that the 7 year tribulation starts sometime around his assumption of office, that places the start of Dan 12:11 around Sept 2016.  The 45 days would start in Mar 2020.

One individual suggested June 2016 as the start of Dan 12:11.

So let’s go with a window of Feb 2019 to Mar 2020 for the start of the 45 days between Dan 12:11 and 12:12.  This also fulfills Matt 24:36 about only the Father knowing the day and hour of Jesus’ 2nd coming.

Just MAYBE the midterm elections in Nov 2018 might tie in.  There are 235 House and 33 Senate seats up for election.

Also at this time is Duterte’s “drug war” killings are under investigation by the International Criminal Court.  The Catholic Church is opposed to the killings.

Putin has a far right wing government and one thing of note is the Jehovah’s Witness religion is banned (Kingdom Halls are being raided and members are being arrested).  Will the government fall?

Rothschilds family, more or less, controls the finances of the world.  They funded both the rise and fall of Communism.  Part of the so-called “New World Order” is a One World Government (Socialist in nature, evidently) and it appears that Trump, Putin and Duterte are roadblocks to it.  There are articles that suggest Rothschilds, the Pope and the Crown (aka Royal Family of England) are linked.

Again, this is live and will update.
