The Salvation Timeline

The Jehovah’s Witnesses believe that all except their religion will be destroyed at “Armageddon” and there will be a “Paradise Earth”.  They believe that only 144,000 will go to heaven and the remaining 8.2 million will live forever on earth. They also believe the previously dead of their religion will be resurrected just after “Armageddon”.  The “2nd death” is ceasing to exist. Rev 7:9-17 details the Great Tribulation survivors and Rev 19:1 confirms it is a great crowd in heaven and the bottom line is they inherit eternal life. Rev 20:8-9, along with 2 Peter 3:10 and Rev 21:1-4 would indicate Paradise Earth is not possible until the end of the 1000 year period.

Biblical Unitarians (www.stfonline.org; Christian Churches of God http://www.ccg.org is not covered because of the complexity of its teachings)  believe the chosen will be part of a pre-Tribulation rapture and those that survive the Great Tribulation will be risen to heaven just before Jesus’ 2nd coming. The remainder that survive “Armageddon” will live on a “Paradise Earth” but eternal life does not occur until AFTER the final judgment. Pre Trib rapture is even a bone of contention among some mainstream religions. They believe that the 2nd death is ceasing to exist.

As we will read, Rev 21:1-4 states the Holy City comes down to the new heaven and earth and, in Rev 20:8-9 (which occurs after the 1000 years between the beginning of Judgment Day and the time Satan is released), those outside God’s camp are consumed by fire.  This would indicate “paradise earth” is possible only for those that pass the final white throne judgment in addition to those in the Holy City at the beginning.

7th Day Adventists believe as so “The millennium is the thousand-year reign of Christ with His saints in heaven between the first and second resurrections. During this time the wicked dead will be judged; the earth will be utterly desolate, without living human inhabitants, but occupied by Satan and his angels. At its close, Christ with His saints and the Holy City will descend from heaven to earth. The unrighteous dead will then be resurrected, and with Satan and his angels will surround the city; but fire from God will consume them and cleanse the earth. The universe will thus be freed of sin and sinners forever. (Rev. 20; 1 Cor. 6:2, 3; Jer. 4:23-26; Rev. 21:1-5; Mal. 4:1; Eze. 28:18, 19.)” (source: 7th Day Adventist website). This would indicate that the 2nd death is cessation to exist.

There are some religious groups that believe the 2nd resurrection occurs in a similar manner as what the 7th Day Adventists teach, except that group suffers eternal torment in the lake of fire.

Armstrongism (United Church of God http://www.ucg.org,  Restored Church of God http://www.rcg.org)  believe in a 2nd resurrection that occurs after the Wrath of God for people to redeem themselves during the 1000 years (a time of peace and prosperity) and a third resurrection of the wicked (quite possibly Rev 20:13). They also believe the 2nd death is ceasing to exist. They also believe that only Satan and the fallen angels will be tormented forever.  They believe their “true followers” will be congregated at one location during the 3.5 year Great Tribulation.

https://hwarmstrong.com/armstrongism.htm

Hard core Catholics believe that the dead either go straight to hell, straight to heaven or “purgatory” (a middle ground for those not bad enough for hell nor good enough for heaven). Upon reading some Catholic websites, “Purgatory” is, in fact, Hades and “hell” is Gehenna (or the lake of fire).  Luke 16:19-31 is the story of the rich man who died and described a burning in Hades.

Most mainstream believe that those not the chosen ones will stand in front of the throne as outlined in Rev 20:12-15.  Each person will be reviewed and either sent to the lake of fire or heaven.

A number of these theories can be disputed by the following:  Rev 20:4-6 defines the first resurrection and that the remaining dead will be resurrected 1000 years later.  Rev 20:7-10 occurs 1000 years after Satan is imprisoned in the Abyss.  The angels are imprisoned in the “chains of darkness” (2 Peter 2:1-4). The Holy City does descend after 1000 years.  The possibility of those with the mark of the beast being tormented (Rev 14:10-11) during the 1000 year period is more likely.

So let’s start at the basic verse (the first resurrection):

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17King James Version (KJV)

16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

The dead in Christ include:

The 144,000:

Revelation 7:2-4King James Version (KJV)

And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea, Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads. And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.

If one reads Rev 14, the 144,000 are without fault and blameless.  The fall of Babylon occurs after the 144K in Verse 8. Also, those who worship the beast and have the mark of the beast on the hand and forehead are basically sent to the lake of fire.

Revelation 14:8-11King James Version (KJV)

And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication. And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, 10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: 11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.

Those beheaded in the name of Jesus:

Revelation 20:4-5King James Version (KJV)

And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.

Revelation 19King James Version (KJV)

19 And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our God: For true and righteous are his judgments: for he hath judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand. And again they said, Alleluia And her smoke rose up for ever and ever.

The above shows the survivors of the Great Tribulation and the fall of Babylon (Rev 7:9-17 and Rev 14:8).

Given the Holy City is still in heaven, they rule from heaven.

So what is the mark of the beast? It may surprise you.  https://religiousrealist.wordpress.com/2016/06/20/the-mark-of-the-beast/

The survivors of the Great Tribulation are the “alive in Christ”

Revelation 7:14King James Version (KJV)

14 And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

The signs of the Great Tribulation and 2nd coming:

Matthew 24:21-22King James Version (KJV)

21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.

Matthew 24:29-30King James Version (KJV)

29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: 30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

I think most Christians can agree the first resurrection is the chosen ones or “anointed class.”

Revelation 20:6King James Version (KJV)

Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

Some believe that those consumed by fire in Rev 20:8-9 are the descendents of those that survived the Wrath of God in 2 Peter 3:7.

Revelation 20:7-10 King James Version (KJV)

And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog, and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea. And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them. 10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

Related to the above:

Revelation 19:19-21King James Version (KJV)

19 And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army. 20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. 21 And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.

Here is the final resurrection:

Revelation 20:12-15King James Version (KJV)

12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. 13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. 14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

So if the earth is cleansed of sin in Rev 20:8-9, who is resurrected in verse 13 to stand in front of the throne? Let’s assume that Rev 20 occurs in a chronological manner. Rev 20:12 says the dead, small and great stand before God.  If all in the 2nd resurrection are consumed by fire in Rev 20:8-9 as some teach, who is left in verse 12?  Also, does that mean the “sea” and “Hades” are empty in verse 13? This and other details will be covered in “The 1000 Year Period.”

Daniel 7:10King James Version (KJV)

10 A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened.

Would this indicate that only 100 million will appear in front of God’s throne? If somebody rejected God before Judgment Day, they would be sent straight to the lake of fire on the 2nd resurrection.  I would think that Rev 14:10-11 would eliminate those who have the mark of the beast.  Then finally those physically consumed by fire in Rev 20:8-9. Would the “thousand thousands” be  those in 1 Thess 14:16-17?

So does that mean some that stand in front of the throne will be saved?

Romans 2:14-16King James Version (KJV)

14 For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves: 15 Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;) 16 In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.

Revelation 21:27New International Version (NIV)

27 Nothing impure will ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life (the Holy City is described in verses 1-4; It comes down out of heaven.Lastly, the time line of 2 Peter 3:7-13

2 Peter 3:7-13New International Version (NIV) –

By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly. But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. 10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything done in it will be laid bare.[a] 11 Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives 12 as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming.[b] That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat. 13 But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells.

Revelation 5:9-10King James Version (KJV)

And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;

10 And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.

The above would indicate that those in the first resurrection would rule on the earth AFTER the final judgment.

Here is the scenario:

Biblically we know that the Wrath of God happens at the 2nd coming of Jesus, governments are destroyed as are earthly organizations (including Babylon and the false prophets) and the wicked (including those that have the mark of the beast).  That is something that probably just about all Christian professing religions can agree on.  There is no evil during the 1000 years and that is another thing agreed on.  I think most of Christianity believes that the earth at the 2nd coming will be a wasteland.

At that point, those that died both before God’s Wrath and during would know nothing.

Ecclesiastes 9:5New International Version (NIV)

For the living know that they will die,
    but the dead know nothing;
they have no further reward,
and even their name is forgotten.

What about those that MAY survive God’s Wrath?  What if  the earth left was not, in fact a paradise?  What if some thought they were part of the chosen ones but here they are?  So who would be those consumed by fire in Rev 20:8-9 and who would be those that stand in front of the throne in Rev 20:12-15? Is it possible the 2nd resurrection could occur in 2 parts?

Now we get to the group in Rev 20:12-15.  Matt 25:31-41 goes with this where Jesus separates the goats from the sheep.

Matthew 25:31-41King James Version (KJV)

31 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: 32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: 33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. 34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: 35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: 36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. 37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? 38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? 39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? 40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. 41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yo3quMMp24U a classic Jack Chick tract.  Mainstream seems to follow this line.

The ones that would be in for a rude awakening at this point would be their impression that they were in the group of the chosen or the ones that thought they were really doing the work of the Lord.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PO8pB5P6EzY Flight 144 is a prime example.

Suicide, Euthanasia and Salvation

This is a topic that will be brief but worthy of writing.  It is also appropriate in light of the debate over abortion.

The secular side of suicide and euthanasia:

If you commit suicide, insurance companies don’t pay.

If you perform euthanasia, you could get sued or go to prison.  Your conscience also has to live with it.

There are some that claim suicide is a ticket to the lake of fire.  Also considered among this is some think the Jehovah’s Witness teaching of refusing blood transfusions is also a ticket to the lake of fire. This is false (it was originally a Catholic teaching). Below are articles and a video that address the issue of suicide and salvation.

https://www.gotquestions.org/Christian-suicide-saved.html

http://www.gracelife.org/resources/gracenotes/?id=26

This tract shows that the reason the young man went to hell was because he didn’t have faith in Jesus and not because he killed himself.

Another Chick tract about the Jehovah’s Witness teaching of refusing blood transfusions (the parents decided to continue with the transfusion because they accepted Christ).  They do use the following verse as their basis:

Acts 15:29 King James Version (KJV)

29 That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well.

They genuinely believe that a person who either accepts a blood transfusion or permits a family member to accept one will not live forever on “paradise earth.”  As shown in previous articles, only the first resurrection (Rev 20:4-6) and those that survive the Great Tribulation (Rev 7:14-17) are guaranteed salvation since this is defined as the “congregation of Christ.”  The remainder face destruction or judgment (and this is limited to 100 million that appear in front of the White Throne; ref Dan 7:10 and Rev 20:11-13).  Also shown was “paradise earth” is not possible until after the White Throne Judgment (based on Rev 21:4 & 27 and Rev 20:8-9).

The below verse shows EATING blood is prohibited.

Leviticus 17:11-14 King James Version (KJV)

11 For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul. 12 Therefore I said unto the children of Israel, No soul of you shall eat blood, neither shall any stranger that sojourneth among you eat blood. 13 And whatsoever man there be of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn among you, which hunteth and catcheth any beast or fowl that may be eaten; he shall even pour out the blood thereof, and cover it with dust. 14 For it is the life of all flesh; the blood of it is for the life thereof: therefore I said unto the children of Israel, Ye shall eat the blood of no manner of flesh: for the life of all flesh is the blood thereof: whosoever eateth it shall be cut off.

Matthew 15:17 King James Version (KJV)

17 Do not ye yet understand, that whatsoever entereth in at the mouth goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the draught?

Think about the above……  if one has a bleeding ulcer in the stomach, the bowels have a blackish color.  Even non-Christian religions prohibit the eating of blood (Halal meat is prepared by Muslim butchers to remove traces of blood).  Eating steak tartare, rare steak or sushi does not constitute eating blood; if anything, raw food could lead to health problems.

What about euthanasia (and that includes a Jehovah’s Witness family acting in behalf of either a minor or family member, or another having an abortion) ?   Many pet owners are Christians but they ultimately decide to put their animal down mainly because of the suffering it would endure. Also people take unwanted pets to the Humane Society or Animal Control.  On the other side, some pet owners would save their animal at all costs.   Medical bills for a terminally ill patient can often bankrupt a family yet there are some Christian families who have members that have been on life support for many years (and even some have woke out of a coma after 10 years or more).

https://www.gotquestions.org/search.php?zoom_query=Euthanasia several links concerning human/pet euthanasia, mercy killing.  Pet euthanasia is more tolerable in the sight of God.

“When a patient’s body begins shutting down, when medical intervention will not heal but only prolong the natural process of dying, then removing the machines and allowing that person to die is not immoral.”   from the above article.

https://sunandshield.wordpress.com/2016/12/21/questioning-the-salvation-of-christians-favoring-abortion-assisted-suicide-and-euthanasia/

https://answersingenesis.org/sanctity-of-life/euthanasia/biblical-solution-terminal-illness-or-suffering/

Doctors’ Hippocratic Oath is to save lives.  There have been cases where the doctor has recommended to remove someone off life support and the family refuses; the patient recovers (although maybe in a bit diminished capacity).

Abortion: is the pregnancy a threat to the life of the mother or is there no hope for the unborn? There are a number born with birth defects (such as Down’s Syndrome or microcephalism).  The problem with late term abortions is that doing so by Dilation and Curettage (D n C) or saline solution is these are barbaric methods and the fetus has to suffer a great deal.  Abortion just for the sake of an unwanted child IS murder (the key time is after 20 weeks); there a number of couples, who cannot otherwise have children, that are more than happy to adopt. When abortions were illegal, many women died because of the unsafe practices.  There also has to be a limit as to the latest a woman can obtain an abortion and the logic is that if a woman carries past 20 weeks, the child is wanted.  “All or nothing” (which is what pro-life and pro-choice want) is not feasible; there has to be a balance.

Jehovah’s Witness parents sometimes will let a perfectly healthy child die due to their doctrine on blood transfusions.  This IS murder. The child had no choice.

Would the below verse apply to the JW blood doctrine?  “Putting someone out of the synagogue” can include the threat of disfellowshipping or expulsion if a member decides to carry on with the transfusion.  In short, YES.

John 16:2-3 New International Version (NIV)

They will put you out of the synagogue; in fact, the time is coming when anyone who kills you will think they are offering a service to God. They will do such things because they have not known the Father or me.

When a person has a living will or a “no transfusion” identification card, the medical profession is bound legally.  In other words, doctors can be sued.  In regards to Jehovah’s Witness minors, the courts have forced the parents to allow a blood transfusion; if the parents decide to violate the law and remove the child from the hospital, they do often go to jail (and it is quite likely they might be killed themselves in prison).  Many have left this religion because of the blood doctrine.

This is what the bible says about killing:

Exodus 20:13 King James Version (KJV)

13 Thou shalt not kill.

Joshua 4:12-13 King James Version (KJV)

12 And the children of Reuben, and the children of Gad, and half the tribe of Manasseh, passed over armed before the children of Israel, as Moses spake unto them: 13 About forty thousand prepared for war passed over before the Lord unto battle, to the plains of Jericho.

The second passage is related to defending oneself.  It would support law enforcement, the military, or self-defense.

The penalty for murder is written below:

Revelation 21:8 King James Version (KJV)

But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

This is what the bible says about life vs death:

Deuteronomy 30:18-20 New International Version (NIV)

18 I declare to you this day that you will certainly be destroyed. You will not live long in the land you are crossing the Jordan to enter and possess. 19 This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live 20 and that you may love the Lord your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. For the Lord is your life, and he will give you many years in the land he swore to give to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

Killing one person to save the lives of many is not murder.  A suicide bomber is going to die anyway, maybe even with the mistaken notion of being a martyr.

Sacrificing your own self to save the life of others would be considered a noble and Christian act. The person who is brain dead can give life to others.  The life support machines can keep the individual’s organs from dying and gives the hospital suitable time to find organ recipients. Below is what the Bible states about self-sacrifice.

John 15:13 New International Version (NIV)

13 Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.

In the process of choosing life, maybe someone may have to die for it to happen.

“Holy Joe” certainly fit the requirement of Rev 20:4 (“beheaded for the witness of Jesus”, meaning he sacrificed himself).  Also, the sergeant declared Christ as his savior at the last moment.

So here is the bottom line: if you are an unbeliever and you do yourself in or cause someone else’s death, that is a ticket to the lake of fire.  If you sacrifice yourself for Christ, you are in the first resurrection (Rev 20:5-6).  If you are a believer and commit suicide, assist someone in doing so, or kill someone because you think you may be saving that person pain or suffering, it is up to God to judge (Rev 20:11-13).  The below passage shows the sin that is unforgivable:

Mark 3:28-29 New International Version (NIV)

28 Truly I tell you, people can be forgiven all their sins and every slander they utter, 29 but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; they are guilty of an eternal sin.”

The final scenario: you are given a choice of renouncing your faith or dying.  Obviously a good Christian would take the latter.  Do you decide that suicide is a less violent and painful option than being shot, stabbed, beaten or beheaded?  Given Rev 20:4-6 defines the first resurrection (and that figuratively means sacrificing oneself).

The reality of committing suicide is that one is less likely to be in the first resurrection and would be among those 1000 years later  who stand in front of the Throne.  The bible clearly states the church shall be blameless and without fault (Eph 5:27), the chosen will be blameless (Rev 14:5) and the pure of heart will see God (Matt 5:8).  Whether or not one sees God if judgment is passed (Rev 20:12-15) remains to be seen.

The Hour Of Judgment

Revelation 14:7-8 King James Version (KJV)

Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters. And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.

Verse 8 would be the end of the hour and would coincide with the start of Judgment Day

One possible start is Nov  13, 1978 (the Jonestown massacre, where 900 died in a cult camp headed by Rev Jim Jones) and this is really the first major “Christian” worldwide controversy. The end of the hour would be approximately August 2020 on this.

The second possible start is apparently an exposure of Christian scandals with the bulk starting in 1986.  This would place the end of it in 2027.

Included in this “hour” are scandals that started with televangelists and Catholic priests, investigation on ABC 20/20 in 1993 of International Church of Christ, exposure of anomalies in the Jehovah’s Witness religion (including the not reporting of child molestation to authorities; two lawsuits lost totaling $42Million in California and an ongoing investigation of 2000+ cases not reported in Australia since 1955), and recent exposure of Scientology on television. There are some religions that have not reached a public level.

So what would it be? It would be a public exposure of misdeeds of religious leaders or clergy and God would be giving them a chance to correct their mistakes.  If they fail to do so, then they would ultimately face judgment.

In the case of the televangelists,  Jim Bakker was sent to prison in 1988 and released in 1994. Evidently Mr Bakker is back at preaching and has made some far fetched claims he is a prophet and that Trump is fulfillment of biblical prophecy.

The current Pope has vowed to correct the misdeeds of the priests.

The Governing Body of the Jehovah’s Witnesses claims the investigations are “apostate-driven lies.” in the San Diego molestation case, the organization was fined $4000 per day for refusal to release records and recently settled out of court.  At this point there is no action to reform their policies of what to report to the authorities.

Recently, the secretary of a Filipino evangelist, Apollo Quiloboy, was caught trying to smuggle $350,000 out of Hawaii.  Prosecution is ongoing.

There are some pastors who are getting rich off using the name of God.  One explained the need to his followers that he needed a $650,000 Lear Jet to do his missionary work.

For the true church, the following verse applies.  The first nation of God would be the Jews under Moses.  The second nation of God would be the first century Christians.  The third nation of God would be the modern day true Christians.

Zechariah 13:9 King James Version (KJV)

And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The Lord is my God.

Isaiah 1:8-9 King James Version (KJV)

And the daughter of Zion is left as a cottage in a vineyard, as a lodge in a garden of cucumbers, as a besieged city. Except the Lord of hosts had left unto us a very small remnant, we should have been as Sodom, and we should have been like unto Gomorrah.

The Seven Year Tribulation/New World Order

Below is supposed to be the basis for the 7 year tribulation.  According to the article, the last week of the 70 weeks is the 7 year tribulation.  The timeline is supposed to start when the temple of Jerusalem is rebuilt.

Daniel 9:24-27 King James Version (KJV)

24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy. 25 Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times. 26 And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. 27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

The following articles are presented on some thoughts of the 70 weeks:

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Tribulation.

The above is a Wikipedia article. For the purposes of this, we will use the “Futurist” view with the Great Tribulation being destruction of 75 percent of the world’s population.

The “Historicism” view is the 7 years is a period of 1260 “days” between 538 to 1798 AD with Matt 24:29 being  signs in the 18th century.  The Papacy has been deemed as the “AntiChrist” since its inception and even some 20th century religious tracts have suggested that the “modern ” bibles are infiltration by Catholicism to distort the King James Version.  It has also been stated that the Papacy has been behind the Inquisition and even the rise to power of Adolf Hitler. The Millerites incorrectly predicted the end of the world to be 1844.  The Jehovah’s Witnesses 1874, 1914, 1918, 1925 and 1975.

The claim of the Papacy being the AntiChrist is derived from the title “VICARIVS FILII DEI” (Vicar of Christ) where the Roman numerals add to 666.  Lately Catholics have been making the claim of ELLEN GOULD WHITE (the founder of the Seventh Day Adventist church) being one (using U as V and W = 10).

Armstrongism (particularly David Pack of Restored Church of God) claims the AntiChrist is a leader so powerful that heads of state cannot stop it.

The Jehovah’s Witnesses claim it is the “system” (political, financial and religious entities).

http://christinprophecy.org/articles/daniels-70-weeks-of-years/

http://endtimepilgrim.org/chart2.htm (the last week)

http://endtimepilgrim.org/70wks8.htm (the 69 weeks leading to the death of Christ)

The above concur the 69 weeks (or 7 prophetic years per week or 2520 days = 6.9 actual years) lead up to the death of Christ from the rebuilding of Jerusalem.

The below video is one I thought I would throw in.  It is concurrent with my thought of a post Trib or pre-wrath Rapture.  The below verse indicates we are tested.

1 Peter 1:7 King James Version (KJV)

That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:

Romans 5:3-4 King James Version (KJV)

And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope:

The remaining week would be the 7 year tribulation period. The midpoint of it is below.

Daniel 12:11 King James Version (KJV)

11 And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.

Matthew 24:15 King James Version (KJV)

15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)

If one wants to claim the Pope is the Antichrist (who makes a midpoint change), consider the following article:

http://thesplendorofthechurch.com/2018/06/23/pope-francis-gay-couples-cannot-be-considered-families-in-the-image-of-god/

Up to this point, the Pope has been thought of as borderline liberal, promoting unity among both professing Christians, Muslims, Jews and pagans.

https://www.gotquestions.org/Great-Tribulation.html according to this article, the Great Tribulation occurs at this point, the antichrist is exposed and He enacts His wrath.

The event of epic proportions would be as follows:

Daniel 12:12 King James Version (KJV)

12 Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days.

Estimates of the start of the 7 years:

Initial estimates in this blog (which started in mid 2016) had placed the start of the 7 year period of the Tribulation in 2009 with the inauguration of Obama.  Also, some members of a certain religion estimated that it began at that same time when its previous leader died and the son assumed the duties (plus they claim it was apostatized at that time). During this time frame, Pope Francis assumed the duties of the Papacy (which is almost a midpoint) and promoted a One World Religion between Sept 2015 with a conference in Jan 2016 of religious leaders. In Sept 2016, Obama and the Pope had a closed door session.  During Nov 2016, numerous riots happened in the United States in protest of Donald Trump’s election as President.  This period has come and gone, plus a “One World Religion” still has not materialized nor has a “One World Government,” so the start is not 2009.

Pope Francis assumed the Papacy on March 31, 2013.  This would place the 45 days of Daniel 12:12 at approximately Feb 2020 and make the end in April 2020 IF this would be the prophetic start of the seven years.  What differs about this Pope is he has taken a more left wing stance and proclaimed certain things that have gone against “tradition” (first being that Dec 25 is not the actual birth of Jesus and many non-Trinitarians know this already; the most recent is the claim that “hell” does not exist, which has been a teaching of 7th Day Adventists, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Biblical Unitarians, Armstrongism).  Also around this time frame is mainstream religions who started performing same sex marriages and it being legal in many states and countries, plus LGBT and transgender have been allowed to serve in the US military (this may have a bearing in what is to follow).  Coincidentally, Barack Obama was inaugurated as President of the United States for a second term (during his tenure, Osama Bin Laden was killed).  At the approximate 3.5 year period of the Pope’s tenure, Rodrigo Duterte was elected President of the Philippines and Donald Trump was elected President of the United States (this could factor in the “midpoint” part of the equation, which is discussed later).

Rev 14:7 is the “hour of judgment” of 41 years and 8 months. This would include the 7 year tribulation at the end, given the next event is Rev 14:8 is the “fall of Babylon”  The “hour” is covered in detail in a separate article but, nonetheless.

https://religiousrealist.wordpress.com/2018/05/04/the-hour-of-judgment/ based on this, the “hour” would end in 2020 or 2027.

According to some of the articles, the  7 year period would start with a 7 year peace treaty in the middle east and the elimination of radical Islam.   One article mentions the New World Order (which includes a One World Government and One World Religion). Many articles show that an attempt was made on Apr 29, 2014.  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israeli%E2%80%93Palestinian_peace_process show various attempts. An article shows the Pope signing a treaty with Palestine on 26 June 2015 that supposedly was supposed to aid Israel-Palestine peace talks.

This video has an interesting thought of the antichrist setting himself up in the temple and proclaiming himself as God.

2 Thessalonians 2:3-4 King James Version (KJV)

Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

Some former members of a certain religion believes it is the current leader doing so around mid 2015.  This would place the end of the 3.5 years  approximately Jan 2019 with the belief that Daniel 12:11 applies to their church being supposedly apostatized. They also claim that wearing a certain emblem is the “mark of the beast” in Rev 13:16-17 and previously preached the Catholic “sign of the cross” has been it.

The Seventh Day Adventist and Armstrongist religions believe  the mark of the beast is Sunday worship or laws that mandate closing of businesses on Sunday.

The below passage was mentioned in a video in relation to the 7 year peace treaty between the Pope (supposed antichrist) and Israel.

Revelation 6:1-2 King James Version (KJV)

And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see. And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.

So we have an estimate between Jan 2019 and sometime in 2027 for the end of the Great Tribulation. What would supposedly start the 7 year period is the Pope and Israel signing a 7 year deal for peace in the Middle East.  Many videos say this HAS to happen.  One of the links above shows “New World Order” happening at the start of the 7 year period (the Great Tribulation is supposedly where 75 percent of the world’s population is killed).

But the question is whether or not it is REALLY the Pope and literal Israel, a secret pact between the Pope and the so-called “spiritual Israel” (two non-Mainstream religions come to mind and they both claim to have the “truth”).  The other question is whether it would be an extremely prominent world leader’s office is the “AntiChrist” or is it the System?  Analyze the midpoint.

President of the United States:

One thing Obama did on Sept 23, 2016 was have a closed door conference with the Pope. Again, this could be an entry point to the 3.5 years (which is pretty close to when the Pope started his office).

When Trump was elected President, it was a start of numerous riots by the Left (particularly the group ANTIFA or ANTI FAscist) that continued through Inauguration. Also a group called “Refuse Fascism” (which is sponsored by, and which has been promoting, the Revolutionary Communist Party) was aligned with ANTIFA until about March 2017 (when a rash of floodings and disasters started, along with open clashes with right wing extremists; most notably an incident in Charleston W Va where a protester was killed by a vehicle).  Also a number of shootings up to the most recent Parkland school shooting have prompted for stricter gun laws (including better documentation of those that US Code prevents from legally owning them). There was also a conspiracy theory by the far right that Nov 4 would be a power grid blackout and a civil war between ANTIFA and the neo-Nazis or “patriots”; that did not happen and the “Refuse Fascism” protests were not the so-called “millions in the streets day after day”.  Another turnabout of the so-called “midpoint” is the arrest and detaining of illegal immigrants and prohibition of refugees from some Muslim countries.

World Leaders:

Russia: Vladimir Putin just recently got re-elected as President.  One major thing in 2017 was the banning of Jehovah’s Witness as “extremists” where police raided Kingdom Halls and arrested members.

Philippines: Rodrigo Duterte was elected president in May 2016.  A drug war commenced with about 3000 dead as a byproduct.  Also a number of religiously motivated murders started taking place in 2017 (in Marawi, some Catholics were beheaded by Islam extremists for not converting  to Islam, four supporters of a former member of an influential church were murdered execution style; recently, an Iglesia Ni Cristo minister, a Catholic priest and Jehovah’s Witness “preacher” were ambushed).  Duterte is up for re-election in 2019. The murders could possibly be by a group that would make it appear that these were commanded by a certain religious leader.

Also of note since 2017 is the close calls to the start of WW3 (last near North Korea and the potential related to Syria).

“New World Order”:

https://religiousrealist.wordpress.com/2016/06/20/the-mark-of-the-beast/ this includes the One World Government and One World Religion.

Supposedly the definition is a socialist/communist style One World Government and One World Religion with UN troops occupying all countries and the United Nations (UN) in charge.  In 2015, the Pope promoted both and there are videos of Jacob Rothschild (part of the family that owns the central banks of most countries in the world) promoting it.

The roadblock to a “One World Religion” is ISIS and radical Islam since the Pope’s goal is to unite Muslims, Protestants, Jewish, and Buddhist leaders.  Radical Islam advocates the killing of infidels and homosexuals (some of the murder victims are Catholics and there have been executions of gays in the Middle East).

The financial roadblock is that four countries do not have Rothschild owned central banks (Syria, Iran, North Korea and Cuba).  Additionally, Duterte and Putin have vowed to remove Rothschild owned banks from their countries. Russia also supports the Syrian government.  Jacob Rothschild appears to be leaning in a conservative direction, given he is partners with Rupert Murdoch (the CEO of Fox News) in a Syria project and it is also rumored that Trump is a puppet of Rothschild.

The above is a video from a MUSLIM exposing the Rothschild banking system.  He would be considered an extremist.

The issue with the One World Government being communist is that Communism is atheistic in nature and there would be zero religion.  Two proofs of religious intolerance would be North Korea executing people who owned bibles in 2013 and also Mynamar persecuting Muslims in that country.

Putin has claimed to crush the NWO.  United Kingdom has voted to depart the European Union in 2019.  There have been proposals by the US and Philippines to withdraw from the UN.

Given the current situation, it would be more likely the “defined” NWO (mentioned at the beginning of this section) would occur during the 45 days of Daniel 12:11. If it would go as per the opening paragraph of this section, a complete turnover of Congress in the US, removal of Trump as President, and removal of Duterte and Putin.  To be totally communist, Islam, Judaism and Christianity would have to be abolished. Also, at the most recent Bilderberg conference, a subject of discussion supposedly was the rise of “populist” governments (which pose a threat to the globalist agenda).

The possibility of the NWO being the OPPOSITE of what is initially defined at the beginning does exist and it could go under the guise of “crushing NWO.” Fascism would involve a state religion.

In the New World Order, there would be a link between religion and state. A religion with congregations worldwide would be part of it and would have influence in government (politicians, law enforcement, judicial system, military and maybe even human rights groups).

The other possibility of the NWO is the APPEARANCE of the “fall of Babylon” in Rev 14:8 (the EU and UN collapse, fall of governments, fall of the banking system and even possibly the fall of organized religion).

The below verse pertains to what could be considered “the Great Tribulation”

Revelation 6:7-8 King James Version (KJV)

And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say, Come and see. And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.

At the current moment, there is a significant amount of activity in Syria, North Korea and South Korea are negotiating the end of the conflict.  Also, the opening of  a temporary US Embassy in Jerusalem is scheduled for May 14.

In some of the other articles, it is apparent that the beast consists of the political arm (Bilderberg, United Nations and European Union), the financial arm (the Rothschild banking system that includes the Federal Reserve and central banks in all but 4 countries) and the religious arm (the Papacy).  Vladimir Putin and Rodrigo Duterte have vowed to remove Rothschild central banks from their countries and the former has vowed to crush “New World Order.” The current Pope has promoted a One World Government and One World Religion but would it happen during the last 3.5 years of the Tribulation?

A significant event in 2018 is the midterm elections for Congress (all seats in the house are up for election and 33 senate seats are up).  If there is a 2/3 majority of Democrats, there is a possibility of Donald Trump being considered for impeachment as President of the United States.

This video may not EXACTLY happen on May 14, 2018 but what is currently happening in the Middle East describes it. World War 3 would be in the equation.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abaddon there are theories that Abaddon is a demon or actually sent by God to destroy those that aren’t sealed.

Revelation 9:11 King James Version (KJV)

11 And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon.

Related:

Revelation 9:15-21 King James Version (KJV)

15 And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for to slay the third part of men. 16 And the number of the army of the horsemen were two hundred thousand thousand: and I heard the number of them. 17 And thus I saw the horses in the vision, and them that sat on them, having breastplates of fire, and of jacinth, and brimstone: and the heads of the horses were as the heads of lions; and out of their mouths issued fire and smoke and brimstone. 18 By these three was the third part of men killed, by the fire, and by the smoke, and by the brimstone, which issued out of their mouths. 19 For their power is in their mouth, and in their tails: for their tails were like unto serpents, and had heads, and with them they do hurt. 20 And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk: 21 Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts.

https://religiousrealist.wordpress.com/2017/01/05/the-144-thousand-and-the-angel-from-the-east/ review this one because it shows the relationship between the four angels and the “angel from the east”

https://tictocministries.wordpress.com/2014/10/27/isis-prophecy-the-200-million-man-army-2/  This article seems to think ISIS (and its cells) worldwide given there are 1.3 billion Muslims.  The logistics of putting together 200 million armed forces seems to be impossible (even a country the size of China would have difficulty).  Beheading by ISIS seems to be prevalent in the Middle East with some in Mindanao Philippines (Abu Sayaaf beheading Catholics mainly) and there is a lot of unrest in Europe caused by migrant refugees.

https://hwarmstrong.com/armstrongism.htm Armstrongism believes that their group will congregate in a specific spot during the the Great Tribulation.  They also believe the army of 200 million will come from Russia and their satellites.

Given that the current population of the world is 7 billion, 2.3 billion would be killed by this “army of 200 million.”  It would also seem impossible that 200 million ISIS could kill that many people. Also in Rev 6:7-8 when the fourth seal is opened, the pale horse with Death and Hades following.  Are the four horsemen of Rev 6 the same as the four angels released at the sixth trumpet?  And do the events of Rev 6:7-8 occur concurrently with Rev 9:15? Or is it serial?

http://myplace.frontier.com/~arlenpeacock/four_horsmenfour_cherubim.html this indicates a possibility.

If the first horseman represents the Anti Christ (with the first seal), it would indicate possibly it would be the office of the Papacy (which a number seem to think so).

If the second horseman represents War (with the 2nd seal), it would indicate the presence of major world wars since 1914.  Also, during the early part of the 20th century was the rise of the Federal Reserve bank and the UN.  The rise and fall of communism happened between 1917-1991 (Eastern Europe fell between 1989-1991) and supposedly the Rothschild family funded this.

The third horseman would represent famine and pestilence (which is current).  The Great Depression was in 1929. Africa is wrought with famine.

If one looks at the article, the fourth horseman represents Death.  It kills 1/4 of the population by sword and famine.  Africa has a population of 1.2 billion and seems to have a great degree of hunger and famine.  1/4 of the earth population is 1.75 billion.  It is quite possible World War 3 would be the fulfillment of this.

Population statistics at this moment:

Africa 1.2 billion (Egypt 95 million).

North America 579 million (US is 300 million)

Asia  4.47 billion (Russia 195 million, India and China 1.3 billion each, Philippines 85 million, Japan 127 million, Pakistan 193 million).

Eastern Europe 291 million

Western Europe 397.5 million

South America 422.5 million

Middle East 411 million (cross section of other four).

http://listographic.com/powerful-militaries-2018  one could analyze how many reserves could be called up.  Vietnam, North and South Korea each have 5 million reserves.  India has over 2.8 million reserves. Russia 2.5 million. Brazil about 1.7 million. Taiwan 1.7 million.   China 1.4 million. Ukraine 1 million. US 990 million (800M active).

11.4 million reserves could be called from communist countries.

Question is who all would be involved in WW3?

The sixth trumpet is when God would pull the stops out on the four angels to let them wreak havoc on the planet. It is possible the four angels have been acting in limited capability since about the 4th century.

The end of the Tribulation:

Matthew 24:29-31 King James Version (KJV)

29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: 30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

Worshipping Jesus

There is a dispute about worshipping Jesus. Both sides of the spectrum say that only God is worshipped.

What does Jesus say about worshipping God?

Matthew 4:10 King James Version (KJV)

10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

Luke 4:8 King James Version (KJV)

And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

John 4:21 King James Version (KJV)

21 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father.

Of course, John 4:24 states God is a spirit and one must worship Him in spirit and truth.

What does the Bible say about worshipping Jesus?

Matthew 14:33 New International Version (NIV)

33 Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, “Truly you are the Son of God.”

Matthew 28:9 King James Version (KJV)

And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him.

Mark 5:6 King James Version (KJV)

But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshipped him,

Hebrews 1:5-6 King James Version (KJV)

For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son? And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.

The Douay version of Matt 28:9, Mark 5:6, John 14:33 and Heb 1:5-6 state “adored”; the majority of translations state “worshipped” for Matt 28:9 and Heb 1:5-6 and a majority of translations for Mark 5:6 state “kneeled”

NWT uses “obeisance” in these verses.

Revised English Version states “pay homage” in these verses.

Philippians 2:10 King James Version (KJV)

10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;

Who is not to be worshipped?

Revelation 19:9-10 New International Version (NIV)

Then the angel said to me, “Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!” And he added, “These are the true words of God.” 10 At this I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, “Don’t do that! I am a fellow servant with you and with your brothers and sisters who hold to the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For it is the Spirit of prophecy who bears testimony to Jesus.”

The King James version translation of the above does not specify WHO spoke but NIV is clear that it was an angel that corrected the speaker.  Based on Heb 1:5-6 the angel is not Jesus; therefore an angel is not to be worshipped.

Revelation 20:4 King James Version (KJV)

And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

Obviously worshipping the beast is prohibited and those that do so will be doomed.

Deuteronomy 8:19 King James Version (KJV)

19 And it shall be, if thou do at all forget the Lord thy God, and walk after other gods, and serve them, and worship them, I testify against you this day that ye shall surely perish.

Psalm 81:9 King James Version (KJV)

There shall no strange god be in thee; neither shalt thou worship any strange god.

Exodus 34:14 King James Version (KJV)

14 For thou shalt worship no other god: for the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God:

Exodus 20:4 King James Version (KJV)

Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.

Isaiah 44:17 King James Version (KJV)

17 And the residue thereof he maketh a god, even his graven image: he falleth down unto it, and worshippeth it, and prayeth unto it, and saith, Deliver me; for thou art my god.

So the above two verses (among many) indicate worshipping a graven image is prohibited.

Hosea 13:4 King James Version (KJV)

Yet I am the Lord thy God from the land of Egypt, and thou shalt know no god but me: for there is no saviour beside me.

So not only do we not worship a graven image but there is only one God. The conclusion is one shall perish if worshipping the beast or another god.

Analysis:

Jesus COMMANDED Satan to worship God.

John 4:24 states God is a spirit and one must worship Him in spirit and truth.

In Matt 28:9 and Mark 5:6, they voluntarily worshipped Jesus.

In Heb 1:5-6 it was stated to let the angels worship the Son.

In regards to Matt 28:9 did Jesus correct them? No. Compare this to Rev 19:10 where an angel was the one that corrected someone.

Matthew 28:10 King James Version (KJV)

10 Then said Jesus unto them, Be not afraid: go tell my brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see me.

Trinitarians will say that Jesus did not correct Thomas in John 20:28 so that makes Him God.  In the Revised English Version, Thomas stated “My Lord, my god”; this could be taken as an expression.

Is Jesus a god? The NWT version of John 1:1 states “the Word was a god.” KJV translation of John 1:1 reads “the Word was God” but Revised English Version (“the Word was what God was”) or Moffatt (“the Word was divine”) means that KJV translation is used as an adjective, meaning He had God’s divine quality/nature. He stated He was flesh and bone (Luke 24:39) and a man (John 8:40). 1 Tim 2:5 refers to the man Christ Jesus as the mediator.  These 3 verses refer to the physical state of Being of Jesus. Col 2:9 refers to the divine quality residing in bodily form (Jesus).

In summary, an angel, the beast, a graven image or another god are not to be worshipped. In Is 44:17, the person prays to the graven image and this is the ceremony as defined in Webster. These kinds of worship or prayer are worthy of punishment as written below:

Revelation 14:10-11 New International Version (NIV)

10 they, too, will drink the wine of God’s fury, which has been poured full strength into the cup of his wrath. They will be tormented with burning sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and of the Lamb. 11 And the smoke of their torment will rise for ever and ever. There will be no rest day or night for those who worship the beast and its image, or for anyone who receives the mark of its name.”

The act of worship of Jesus mentioned is kneeling, bowing or paying homage.  Not a mention of praying but an act of reverence or honor.    The question to ask the opponents of worshipping Jesus would be “am I going to burn in the lake of fire for doing this?” and show the verse. Matt 28:9, Mark 5:6, John 14:33 and Heb 1:5-6 are a word manipulation by both proponents and opponents of worshipping Jesus, bottom line and they use the appropriate translations to fit their beliefs.  In short, “getting wrapped around the axle” about terminology.

Matthew 6:9 New International Version (NIV)

“This, then, is how you should pray: “‘Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,

When you attend a worship service you pray to God after the opening hymns, after the lesson and after the offering. Most religions have a benediction to close the service. This is the ceremony as defined in Merriam Webster.

Some Christians ask Jesus to mediate in the middle of a prayer to the Father (based on John 14:6 and 1 Tim 2:5) and then return to the Father and asking in the name of Jesus; nonetheless praying to God.

Sabbath and Sunday Worship

Sabbath is defined as a day of rest.  Most define it as sundown on Friday to sundown on Saturday.

Some churches hold their worship services on Saturday in the belief that worship should be on a day of rest. This includes Seventh Day Adventists, Armstrongism, Christian Churches of God, going across the spectrum.  SDA goes as far as saying that Sunday worship is the so-called “mark of the beast.”  Jews observe Sabbath on Saturday also.

It is a given that most Christians across the spectrum hold their services on Sunday.

Exodus 20:10-11 New International Version (NIV)

10 but the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your male or female servant, nor your animals, nor any foreigner residing in your towns. 11 For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.

Leviticus 23:3 New International Version (NIV)

There are six days when you may work, but the seventh day is a day of sabbath rest, a day of sacred assembly. You are not to do any work; wherever you live, it is a sabbath to the Lord.

Leviticus 23:26-32 King James Version (KJV)

26 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, 27 Also on the tenth day of this seventh month there shall be a day of atonement: it shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire unto the Lord. 28 And ye shall do no work in that same day: for it is a day of atonement, to make an atonement for you before the Lord your God. 29 For whatsoever soul it be that shall not be afflicted in that same day, he shall be cut off from among his people. 30 And whatsoever soul it be that doeth any work in that same day, the same soul will I destroy from among his people. 31 Ye shall do no manner of work: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations in all your dwellings. 32 It shall be unto you a sabbath of rest, and ye shall afflict your souls: in the ninth day of the month at even, from even unto even, shall ye celebrate your Sabbath.

On this note, the entire chapter of Leviticus 23 is about various Sabbath, worship and feast situations.  One website claimes that Verse 32 is about Friday sundown to Saturday sundown.  One must read the entire context of Lev 23:26-32.  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yom_Kippur explains this occurrence (10th day of 7th month) and it is not July 10.  The evening of Sept 18, 2018 is a Tuesday.

http://www.hope-of-israel.org/lunarsab.html

https://www.worldslastchance.com/yahuwahs-calendar/the-lunar-sabbath.html

What did Jesus do on the Sabbath? He saved and fed.

Matthew 12:1-11 King James Version (KJV)

12 At that time Jesus went on the sabbath day through the corn; and his disciples were an hungred, and began to pluck the ears of corn and to eat. But when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto him, Behold, thy disciples do that which is not lawful to do upon the sabbath day. But he said unto them, Have ye not read what David did, when he was an hungred, and they that were with him; How he entered into the house of God, and did eat the shewbread, which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for them which were with him, but only for the priests? Or have ye not read in the law, how that on the sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless? But I say unto you, That in this place is one greater than the temple. But if ye had known what this meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless. For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day. And when he was departed thence, he went into their synagogue: 10 And, behold, there was a man which had his hand withered. And they asked him, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath days? that they might accuse him. 11 And he said unto them, What man shall there be among you, that shall have one sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift it out?

About Sunday worship (that most Christians use as a biblical basis):

John 20:1 King James Version (KJV)

20 The first day of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early, when it was yet dark, unto the sepulchre, and seeth the stone taken away from the sepulcher.

Acts 20:7 King James Version (KJV)

And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight.

1 Corinthians 16:1-3 New International Version (NIV)

The Collection for the Lord’s People

16 Now about the collection for the Lord’s people: Do what I told the Galatian churches to do. On the first day of every week, each one of you should set aside a sum of money in keeping with your income, saving it up, so that when I come no collections will have to be made. Then, when I arrive, I will give letters of introduction to the men you approve and send them with your gift to Jerusalem.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sabbath_in_Christianity.  According to this, the Catholic church made Sunday a day of rest and worship as a matter of convenience.

A number of churches that use the name “Church of Christ” hold a midweek service (usually Wed or Thur) and a weekend service (most on Sunday with an occasional Saturday). There are some Christians that attend worship services on Fridays in the Middle East because that is a day of rest for Muslims. Below is the reason some use to worship midweek.

Acts 2:42-47 King James Version (KJV)

42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers. 43 And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles. 44 And all that believed were together, and had all things common; 45 And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need. 46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, 47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.

From above, the Apostles worshipped on Sunday but the successive generations sometimes worshipped or broke bread daily. Catholic churches hold Mass daily.

https://www.wake-up.org/sabbath/saturday-vs-sunday-comparison.html

The bible is quite clear about gathering ourselves together:

Hebrews 10:25 King James Version (KJV)

25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

Matthew 18:20 King James Version (KJV)

20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

A standard workweek in the United States goes from Monday thru Friday with weekends off.

So that would allow one to observe Sabbath from Friday evening to Saturday evening.  There is nothing in the bible about WORSHIPPING on the seventh day.

It is quite clear that Jesus did labor on a Sabbath day to save. With this in mind, are police going to stop fighting crime, are firefighters going to not put out fires, and are nurses and doctors not going to save lives on Saturday? This is similar to the question that Jesus asked in  Matt 12:11. These professions don’t always work 9-5 Monday thru Friday and sometimes put in way more than 8 hours per day.  They need to have a opportunity to worship.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Names_of_the_days_of_the_week . As the article states, the names of the days of the week are of Greco-Roman origin between the first and third centuries.

http://www.jewfaq.org/shabbat.htm this is how Jewish observe Sabbath.  Remember the Old Testament was written in Hebrew times.  In modern times, they start Friday afternoon and end Saturday afternoon. According to the article, they don’t watch TV, use electricity or drive a car during this timeframe. They do cook. “As with almost all of the commandments, all of these Shabbat restrictions can be violated if necessary to save a life” is a big statement.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Driving_on_Shabbat this tells how Jews get from point A to B on Sabbath day.  Hard-core Orthodox would walk or ride a bicycle to synagogue.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sabbath_in_seventh-day_churches not a mention of how they get to worship services (assuming driving is permitted).  It just states they refrain from secular work, sports, shopping or entertainment.

http://perspectives.adventist.org/en/questions-answers/questions/go/2016-11-18/should-adventists-serve-in-the-military/ SDA discourages but doesn’t prohibit members from serving.  What would be the difference between an SDA pulling duty on a Saturday and someone from another Christian religion pulling duty on Sunday? Usually on a ship or deployed squadron, there isn’t much choice but land based commands often allow servicemembers to arrange their duty schedules to allow for worship.  There are some churches that offer worship services on Saturdays for those that can’t attend Sunday. In the Middle East, Overseas Foreign Workers often worship on Friday since Saturday and Sunday are workdays for their Muslim employers; the choice is not to be in poverty.

http://perspectives.adventist.org/en/questions-answers/questions/go/2016-02-20/can-a-doctor-or-nurse-work-on-Sabbath/ so that answers SDAs in the medical profession. It also makes common sense that other Christians should be able to arrange their schedules to allow worship time.

Is worship really “rest?” Think about this: one has to dress appropriately to attend.  Then one has to drive to the service and from.  Some people drive several hours to attend a gathering in a specific sect. There are ministers who travel to and from preaching assignments. Also, sometimes choir members and ushers are assigned to perform in a worship service.  Then you have to count meetings for elders and practices for choir members.   Also, ministers sometimes have training sessions and prepare a lesson.  Jehovah’s Witnesses have both a midweek meeting and a Sunday meeting every week (not “worship services” per se) to prepare for weekend door-to-door evangelical work.

So really, is Sunday worship “the mark of the beast?”  No.  Rev 13:16-17 is clear that it is a mark on the right hand or forehead.  For that matter, stating that an RFID chip is this mark is a man made interpretation.  A common agreement among a number of Christians is that the papacy is the antichrist by the nature of the title “VICARIVS FILII DEI.”

https://religiousrealist.wordpress.com/2016/06/20/the-mark-of-the-beast/ review.

So somebody could relax from Friday night through Saturday sunset, watch a movie on Saturday night, attend worship service Sunday morning, and go to the grocery store afterward and still not violate the Sabbath.

In today’s society, strict observance of Orthodox Sabbath is nearly impossible:

  1. Not all houses of worship are within walking distance from either one’s home or a bus stop/rapid transit station.
  2. Not all professions observe a strict 9AM to 5PM workday Monday thru Friday. And, as we read, even Seventh Day Adventists and Judaism make allowances for those in the law enforcement, firefighting and medical professions.

Bottom line: “Sunday Worship” as mark of the beast is a man made interpretation of scripture, no different than prohibiting certain food. Examine carefully a lunar vs Gregorian Saturday Sabbath. The sabbath days on a lunar calendar are 8,15,22,29 days after the New Moon if one follows Lunar Sabbath.

This may be a worthwhile video to watch.

According to the above, the Great Tribulation has to do with true vs “professed” Christians.  Supposedly the Superchurch (headed by the Pope) will arise. The 45 days of Dan 12:12 is the destruction of the wicked who persecuted the true Christians.

The First Resurrection.

As a post-Trib believer, this author believes the first resurrection and the “rapture” are one in the same.

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 New International Version (NIV)

16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.

The below defines the first resurrection:

Revelation 20:4-6 New International Version (NIV)

I saw thrones on which were seated those who had been given authority to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony about Jesus and because of the word of God. They[a] had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ a thousand years. (The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended.) This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy are those who share in the first resurrection. The second death has no power over them, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with him for a thousand years.

The below go hand in hand with the above. Since the gates of Hades will not overcome the church and that the 2nd death (where Hades is thrown), it stands to reason those in the first resurrection are Christ’s church. According  to 1 Cor 5:13, all outside are judged.

Matthew 16:18 New International Version (NIV)

18 And I tell you that you are Peter,[a] and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades[b] will not overcome it.

Revelation 20:14 New International Version (NIV)

14 Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death.

The time frame is defined:

Revelation 6:7-12 New International Version (NIV)

When the Lamb opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature say, “Come!” I looked, and there before me was a pale horse! Its rider was named Death, and Hades was following close behind him. They were given power over a fourth of the earth to kill by sword, famine and plague, and by the wild beasts of the earth. When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain because of the word of God and the testimony they had maintained. 10 They called out in a loud voice, “How long, Sovereign Lord, holy and true, until you judge the inhabitants of the earth and avenge our blood?” 11 Then each of them was given a white robe, and they were told to wait a little longer, until the full number of their fellow servants, their brothers and sisters,[a] were killed just as they had been. 12 I watched as he opened the sixth seal. There was a great earthquake. The sun turned black like sackcloth made of goat hair, the whole moon turned blood red,

The “alive that meet in the clouds” are defined below:

Revelation 7:14-17 New International Version (NIV)

14 I answered, “Sir, you know.” And he said, “These are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. 15 Therefore, “they are before the throne of God
    and serve him day and night in his temple;
and he who sits on the throne
will shelter them with his presence.
16 ‘Never again will they hunger;
    never again will they thirst.
The sun will not beat down on them,’[a]
    nor any scorching heat.
17 For the Lamb at the center of the throne
    will be their shepherd;
‘he will lead them to springs of living water.’[b]
‘And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.’[c]

Rev 7:9 and Rev 19:1 would indicate the survivors of the Great Tribulation are a number much larger than 144,000.

Revelation 7:9 King James Version (KJV)

After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;

Revelation 19:1 King James Version (KJV)

19 And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our God:

Revelation 21:1-4 New International Version (NIV)

A New Heaven and a New Earth

21 Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,”[a] for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’[b] or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”

So the Holy City is the dwelling place for the dead in Christ and those that meet in the clouds.  But are the alive “resurrected?” It comes down to the new heaven and earth.  The last chance to enter it is the final Judgment (Rev 20:12-13); and one has to be in the book of life to enter (Rev 21:27).

The marking of the end of the Great Tribulation and the coming of Jesus is as follows:

Matthew 24:29 New International Version (NIV)

29 “Immediately after the distress of those days

“‘the sun will be darkened,
    and the moon will not give its light;
the stars will fall from the sky,
and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.’[a]

So based on that, the first resurrection occurs just before the beginning of Judgment Day.  It is GUARANTEED salvation.

There are a couple religions that believe the only salvation is the first resurrection. All others are destroyed or endure eternal torment.  They also believe that there is no evidence of life on the current planet during the 1000 years of Satan’s imprisonment.  One even states only its members will be saved and the rest thrown in the lake of fire.  There are obviously Christians being persecuted or murdered where this particular church (or Christianity) is outlawed.  Obviously, John the Baptist didn’t belong to it.  What about the so-called “heretics” who were murdered during the Crusades?  Communist countries didn’t allow Christianity and yet some were murdered or imprisoned for their faith.  Obviously, the thief on the cross (Luke 23:40-43) was not a member of an organized religion.  Another situation: a person goes to prison for life at a young age and comes to Christ sometime before death.  Will this person burn in the lake of fire for eternity because he/she didn’t belong to a specific religion.  The below explains:

Romans 2:13-16 New International Version (NIV)

13 For it is not those who hear the law who are righteous in God’s sight, but it is those who obey the law who will be declared righteous. 14 (Indeed, when Gentiles, who do not have the law, do by nature things required by the law, they are a law for themselves, even though they do not have the law. 15 They show that the requirements of the law are written on their hearts, their consciences also bearing witness, and their thoughts sometimes accusing them and at other times even defending them.) 16 This will take place on the day when God judges people’s secrets through Jesus Christ, as my gospel declares.

“Judging” has two outcomes: guilty (doomed) or innocent.  Not 100 percent who are judged are guilty.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_Unitarianism it has existed since the 16th century and it even stated that Martin Luther condemned the word “Trinity.”  So, there were Unitarians before the 19th and 20th centuries (when Millerites, 7th day Adventists and their “restorationist” derivatives emerged).

Please review the below:

https://religiousrealist.wordpress.com/2016/06/21/the-church-of-christ/

https://religiousrealist.wordpress.com/2017/01/05/the-144-thousand-and-the-angel-from-the-east/ we know “an angel from the east” calls the 144,000 (who are retrieved from the earth). Does this include the dead in Christ and the alive?  Or just the dead? This article will dispute that only 144,000 go to heaven.

https://religiousrealist.wordpress.com/2016/10/03/purity/ especially review Matt 5:8, Eph 5:27, Rev 14:5.

In closing,  one’s name on a list for an organization does not guarantee salvation.  One has to be pure of heart, without spot and blameless.  If one claims to be chosen but leads a sinful way of life, that person is a hypocrite (and they don’t inherit the kingdom of God). The Bible is quite clear that one has to enter Christ to be saved.  In short, the first resurrection of the dead in Christ and rising of the survivors of the Great Tribulation is guaranteed salvation; the rest is taking a chance.

Faith and Works

There is a dispute that faith has to have works for salvation on one side and faith alone is sufficient without works.

James 2:14-26King James Version (KJV)

14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,16 And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? 17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. 18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. 19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. 20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? 21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? 22 Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect? 23 And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God. 24 Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only. 25 Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way? 26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

Revelation 20:12King James Version (KJV)

12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

From other articles, one has to enter the body of Christ to be guaranteed salvation at the first resurrection.  Remember that those outside are judged as written in 1 Cor 5:13. One has to be pure of heart and blameless (Eph 5:27, Matt 5:8, Rev 14:5) to be part of this.

The ones that are judged by their works are in the 2nd resurrection (Rev 20:12-13).  100 million approximately (Dan 7:10) will make it to the White Throne.

Romans 2:13-16King James Version (KJV)

13 (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.

Other verses with the correlation of faith and works:

Galatians 2:16King James Version (KJV)

16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

Titus 3:8King James Version (KJV)

This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.

Hebrews 11King James Version (KJV)

11 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good report. Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh. By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God. But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith. By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went. By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise: 10 For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God. 11 Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised. 12 Therefore sprang there even of one, and him as good as dead, so many as the stars of the sky in multitude, and as the sand which is by the sea shore innumerable. 13 These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. 14 For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country. 15 And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned. 16 But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city. 17 By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son, 18 Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called: 19 Accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead; from whence also he received him in a figure. 20 By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau concerning things to come. 21 By faith Jacob, when he was a dying, blessed both the sons of Joseph; and worshipped, leaning upon the top of his staff. 22 By faith Joseph, when he died, made mention of the departing of the children of Israel; and gave commandment concerning his bones. 23 By faith Moses, when he was born, was hid three months of his parents, because they saw he was a proper child; and they were not afraid of the king’s commandment. 24 By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter; 25 Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season; 26 Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward. 27 By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible. 28 Through faith he kept the passover, and the sprinkling of blood, lest he that destroyed the firstborn should touch them. 29 By faith they passed through the Red sea as by dry land: which the Egyptians assaying to do were drowned. 30 By faith the walls of Jericho fell down, after they were compassed about seven days. 31 By faith the harlot Rahab perished not with them that believed not, when she had received the spies with peace. 32 And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gedeon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthae; of David also, and Samuel, and of the prophets: 33 Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions. 34 Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens. 35 Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection: 36 And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment: 37 They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented; 38 (Of whom the world was not worthy:) they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth. 39 And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise: 40 God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.

Evil works:

John 3:19King James Version (KJV)

19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

Jonah 3:9-10King James Version (KJV)

Who can tell if God will turn and repent, and turn away from his fierce anger, that we perish not? 10 And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not.

Galatians 5:19-21King James Version (KJV)

19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

Galatians 2:16 alone states that man is justified by faith in Jesus Christ and not works of the law.

If one reads Heb 11, it is apparent that good works are a byproduct of faith.

According to Titus 3:8, one that believes in God must be careful to maintain good works.  Even Satan believes God exists.

Synonymous with faith is trust:

Proverbs 3:5-6King James Version (KJV)

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Psalm 56:4King James Version (KJV)

In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.

The above go hand in hand with Heb 11.

Not trusting in God:

Psalm 52:7King James Version (KJV)

Lo, this is the man that made not God his strength; but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness.

Psalm 78:21-23King James Version (KJV)

21 Therefore the Lord heard this, and was wroth: so a fire was kindled against Jacob, and anger also came up against Israel; 22 Because they believed not in God, and trusted not in his salvation: 23 Though he had commanded the clouds from above, and opened the doors of heaven,

Mark 10:23-25King James Version (KJV)

23 And Jesus looked round about, and saith unto his disciples, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God! 24 And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God! 25 It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

Hypocrisy is claiming to have faith but not having good works:

Mark 7:6-7King James Version (KJV)

He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

1 John 3:15 and 1 John 4:20-21 define haters and Rev 21:8 defines the consequences.

Jesus instructs us to forgive in Matt 6:14-15 and Matt 18:21-22.  God does not forgive someone of his or her sins if that person doesn’t forgive another.

Job 31:28-30King James Version (KJV)

28 This also were an iniquity to be punished by the judge: for I should have denied the God that is above. 29 If I rejoice at the destruction of him that hated me, or lifted up myself when evil found him: 30 Neither have I suffered my mouth to sin by wishing a curse to his soul. Hatred and not forgiving are evil works and one doesn’t inherit the kingdom of God.

Praying  for God to curse one’s detractors is a sin.

Colossians 3:8King James Version (KJV)

But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.

In regards to Col 3:8, are pornographic/mocking memes and photos of people who do not share one’s beliefs righteous in the sight of God? For instance, drawing devil horns on former church members and other religious leaders.  Personal attacks (such as public defamation in social media by posting someone’s previous wrongdoings) are classed with this.  IT IS GOSSIP and the below verse relates to it.

Proverbs 16:28King James Version (KJV)

28 A froward man soweth strife: and a whisperer separateth chief friends.

In summary, one has to have faith in God and Jesus Christ.  Works are a byproduct of faith.   Claiming to have faith and not doing good works is false and liars get punished. So yes, James 2:14-26 is true that faith without works is dead; kind of like whether the “chicken or egg came first” analysis.  It is true we are given the gift of salvation; however, it does not justify doing evil and claiming to be holy.

Review the below. This man put trust in his works.

The Remnants

After reading various posts on a couple different religions’ views of the remnant few that are plucked from a corrupt religion, decided to write this article.

Starting with the base verse presented:

Isaiah 1:8-9King James Version (KJV)

And the daughter of Zion is left as a cottage in a vineyard, as a lodge in a garden of cucumbers, as a besieged city. Except the Lord of hosts had left unto us a very small remnant, we should have been as Sodom, and we should have been like unto Gomorrah.

Other verses of note:

Romans 9:29King James Version (KJV)

29 And as Esaias said before, Except the Lord of Sabaoth had left us a seed, we had been as Sodoma, and been made like unto Gomorrha.

One needs to read the following:

Romans 9:30-31King James Version (KJV)

30 What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, which followed not after righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith. 31 But Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, hath not attained to the law of righteousness.

The so-called “Nation of God” has strayed, starting with the Israelites and Moses, then the first century Christian church (being apostacized by Catholicism) and modern day former members of Restorationist sects making this claim.

The next passage presented:

Isaiah 1:21-24King James Version (KJV)

21 How is the faithful city become an harlot! it was full of judgment; righteousness lodged in it; but now murderers. 22 Thy silver is become dross, thy wine mixed with water: 23 Thy princes are rebellious, and companions of thieves: every one loveth gifts, and followeth after rewards: they judge not the fatherless, neither doth the cause of the widow come unto them. 24 Therefore saith the Lord, the Lord of hosts, the mighty One of Israel, Ah, I will ease me of mine adversaries, and avenge me of mine enemies:

One needs to also read this for proper context:

Isaiah 1:27-28King James Version (KJV)

27 Zion shall be redeemed with judgment, and her converts with righteousness. 28 And the destruction of the transgressors and of the sinners shall be together, and they that forsake the Lord shall be consumed.

They indicate the remnant are the “chosen” plucked by God from a corrupt organization.  Most noteworthy are Robert King (www.e-watchman.com) and Greg Stafford (former Jehovah’s Witness who started “Christian Witnesses of JAH”). They hold on to basic doctrines of their religions but believe the leadership is deceiving or taking the masses astray.  They do recognize that some doctrines currently being taught are either false or twisted. One of the groups believes “an angel from the east” called them AND (although they don’t teach the following verses), Rev 7:4-8 and Rev 20:4-6 would give strength to the “remnant few”; PROVIDED these passages are used in a figurative manner (the 144,000 being a symbolic number of a chosen few; “beheaded for the witness of Jesus” meaning to endure persecution or even be killed). Where they are not correct is that the chosen few are limited to those that came from their former religion.

Dawn Bible Students broke off from Jehovah’s Witnesses because they believe Rutherford twisted the teachings of Charles Taze Russell.  Members of Church of God International broke off from a group that spawned from Iglesia Ni Cristo because the latter believed in the deity of Christ; their reason for breaking off was because the leader was a woman.

Who are the chosen?:

https://religiousrealist.wordpress.com/2017/01/05/the-144-thousand-and-the-angel-from-the-east/

The Jehovah’s Witnesses do not teach Rev 7:2-3 about the angel from the east; one of the other groups does not read beyond.  All of Rev 7 is linked to the Salvation Timeline and, along with Rev 20:4-6 and 1 Thess 4:16-17 denote the composition of the church of Christ (the first resurrection and survivors of the Great Tribulation entering the Holy City described in Rev 21:1-4).

The former members of these sects use the following verse:

John 16:2King James Version (KJV)

They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service.

They also claim the prophecies of Daniel 11 and 12, and Revelation 12 apply SPECIFICALLY to their religions.  As mentioned in other articles, the 1290 days is the remaining 3.5 years of the tribulation period (this writer believes it has been in progress since 2015, given the state of world events). Some claim that Isaiah 43:5-6 refers to the Jews returning to Israel and the Great Tribulation applies only to the Middle East.

Most will agree that coming out of “Babylon” means leaving Catholicism or any religions that have doctrines similar to it. Apparently this includes things like houses of worship that have crucifixes in the chapel or promoting the celebration of Dec 25 as the birth of Christ.

Of note, the Bible prohibits worship of graven images or idolatry:

Exodus 20:4King James Version (KJV)

Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.

This is one of many in the Old Testament about graven images. The below is about idolatry

This would include stating religious leaders are infallible and the mouthpiece of God (the . Often the leadership demands obedience and not questioning at the risk of being excommunicated.  They often use the below verse:

Hebrews 13:17King James Version (KJV)

17 Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.

They cite the following as basis that their leadership is the mouthpiece of God:

Matthew 24:45King James Version (KJV)

45 Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?

Please read the following in regards to this:

Matthew 24:50-51King James Version (KJV)

50 The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of, 51 And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

It is also an “us vs them” mentality that all outside their organization are of Satan and that the only ones authorized to preach the gospel are their own clergy.  They try to instill a mentality of guilt and fear among their members (especially losing salvation once excommunicated).

Has history shown reformation or return to the pure teachings in some churches?

  1. The Protestant Reformation.  Martin Luther found some anomalies in the teaching of the Catholic Church.  Leaders of the Church still had Protestants murdered or arrested for “heresy”.  As of this point, Protestantism is divided to 40,000 denominations. The only changes in the Catholic Church occurred since the 20th century.  In the 1960s, the priests faced the audience and said Mass in the native language of the country it is located in.  Recently the Pope adopted a left wing view (such as more tolerance of LGBT and calling for a One World Religion) and suggested the idea of priests being able to marry.
  2. Restorationist churches of the 19th Century to present:
    1. Mormons. They claim that Joseph Smith is a messenger of God and use the Book of Mormon (which adds to what is written in the Bible).  They still continue despite being exposed for numerous unbiblical teachings.
    2. Seventh Day Adventists.  Most restorationist movements (Jehovah’s Witnesses, Iglesia Ni Cristo, Armstrongism being examples; INC is the only one that hold the mainstream belief of eternal torment) eminate from them or their predecessors (the Millerites). They started out with a non-Trinitarian belief but now maintain Trinitarianism since 1985. Fortunately, very little negative information is posted about them. Some Catholics are claiming ELLEN GOULD WHITE is an antichrist because the Roman numerals in her name (U=V and W=10) supposedly add up to 666 (SDA, some Born Again and Restorationist sects claim the title on the Pope’s crown “VICARIVS FILII DEI” = 666 and use Rev 13:16-17 to show making the sign of the cross is the mark of the beast).
  3. The “hour of judgment” in Rev 14:7 (1979 approx. to present)
    1. Televangelists being exposed for vices, going to prison for embezzlement, or leading a lavish lifestyle.  They STILL continue to bilk their followers.
    2. Jehovah’s Witnesses.  Many needless deaths due to their blood transfusion doctrine (using Acts 15:28-29 and Leviticus 17:11-14 to justify abstinence) including infants.  The recent string of lawsuits and investigations concerning not reporting child molestation to the police: $42M in damages awarded, $2M in fines for failure to release records, a class action suit in Canada for $66M (not to mention more millions in litigation). They subject the victims of abuse to demoralizing interrogation or even expel them. The leadership claims “apostate lies.”
    3. Exposure of harassment of former members (even including murder and stalking), corruption and so on.  They still operated and still have blind followers.

The last question: are the remnants or martyrs exclusive to one organization? No.

  1. What about those being slaughtered in the Middle East (or even in Southern Philippines) for not converting to Islam and maintaining their Christian faith?
  2. What about the Jehovah’s Witnesses murdered or beaten in Malawi Africa (1992) for refusal to obtain a government ID card? For that matter, the ones currently being arrested during raids in Russia at Kingdom Halls?
  3. What about an entire congregation gunned down in the Philippines by Japanese soldiers during World War II?
  4. What about Catholic priests being imprisoned in Poland or Hungary during the 1960s?
  5. What about the 80 people recently executed in North Korea for owning bibles?
  6. Restorationist movements appear to have started in the 19th and 20th centuries (Mormons and a number who spawned from Millerites/Seventh Day Adventists).  They claim that salvation is only in their organization and some even use Acts 20:28 as a basis for their names.  So what became of those that sacrificed themselves for Christ prior to that? What if someone has no exposure to these religions but endures the persecution for professing their faith in Christ? There are a number of countries that prohibit Christianity and, more specifically, Jehovah’s Witnesses (although they permit other Christian-practicing religions; personally, I don’t agree with some of their teachings).

Most of the religious persecution was or is in the Eastern Hemisphere and some  governments are controlled by religions. In the Western Hemisphere it is mostly stalking or trying to ruin the livelihood of former members (like reporting negative information to employers or publishing their personal information on social media).

Here is another burning question: what about the person who knows that there are erroneous teachings in his or her religion or is aware of corruption?  Those that were forcibly removed or left on their own will claim that those who remain are doomed to the lake of fire.  Through the articles in this blog that include some Chick tracts showing about religious leaders.

Examination of various religious organizations indicates they omit or twist bible verses and not one teaches EVERYTHING.  For instance, some don’t teach about the 144,000 or “an angel from the east.” Some teach that there are survivors of the Millenium (Judgment Day from the 2nd coming of Christ until the release of Satan).  It is known that very little is taught about the Seven Seals.

What about somebody who knows a church has some errors in doctrine or even cherry-picks or twists scripture?  Is this person doomed, as some of the so-called “remnants” claim? No

  1. Rom 3:23 states all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Religious leaders make mistakes.
  2. If the organization contradicts the bible, who do you follow?
  3. Exposing the works of darkness sometimes involves remaining inside the organization. The key thing is concrete proof (such as public record, access to documents).
  4. The religion may have basic teachings correct (such as the church being the body saved by Christ and it is BIBLICAL fact that one has to enter in Christ to be saved and that salvation is in no other name, and that Jesus is the mediator between God and man) but may have some minute details missing (for instance, not the entire chapter of Rev 7 is taught and very few expound on the first six seals of Rev 6).  There are also gray areas in the Bible (like the millennium, aka the 1000 years between the 2nd coming and the release of Satan from the Abyss).
  5. Some religions teach unique things (for instance, not a lot go into the detail of the Holy City in Rev 21:1-4 and 27 and only two known groups teach John 1:1 as an adjective; these two particular things put a lot in perspective, such as the so-called “paradise earth” teaching of Biblical Unitarianism and Jehovah’s Witnesses, and the former is more correct about WHEN eternal life happens).
  6. One’s behavior as a person determines whether or not they are saved.  Faith and works do go hand in hand as written in James 2; however, works are a byproduct of faith and there is a big difference between faith and belief, and even evil people have the latter. Faith, purity and sacrifice is what gets one into the first resurrection.  Works is what people are judged by in the second resurrection (Rev 20:12).

So when does one exit a church?

  1. Use of graven images or pagan practices.  Promoting Halloween (which people often dress up as demons or ghosts) at a church is a no-no.  Christmas is a gray area – some religions acknowledge that Jesus was actually born in September but don’t chastise people who do celebrate it.  It is known through secular articles that Dec 25 is the festival of the Sun God.
  2. When their teachings clearly violate the bible.
  3. If they tell someone to violate the laws of the nation. For instance, being told by leaders to commit murder, lie in court or kidnap a child (for instance, because the religion does not allow blood transfusions).  Romans 13 is specific about God putting government on earth, about obeying the law and paying taxes. If their law states to denounce your religion or change it, then it is an exception because you are giving importance to the commands of God vs men.

Other than that, what is the point?

  1. Their leaders may promote hatred of former members or of LGBT.  Does that mean that you have to follow it?
  2. They may denounce other religions (and many do; a number of Fundamentalist Right Wing Evangelicals denounce non-Trinitarians as cultists).
  3. Nobody says one has to blindly follow what is being preached. God gives us a choice to use critical thinking.
  4. Nobody says one has to let a religion control one’s life.  For instance, providing social security number or employment info is a violation of privacy. If an organization tells you to do something morally wrong and they expel you for not obeying then it is their burden.

Somebody who is a remnant should be within the guidelines of this link: https://religiousrealist.wordpress.com/2016/10/03/purity/

What REALLY is Babylon?

Summary

To date: here’s a recall:

The Godhead:

  1. Fullness exists bodily (Col 2:9)
  2. Is a divine nature (NWT Col 2:9)/has qualities of God (REV Col 2:9 “the fullness of what God was”).
  3. Consists of 3 Beings that are united (“one”; 1 John 5:7, John 10:30). Some call it a Being of three persons or a spirit that manifests itself (Trinitarianism and Pentacostal Oneness).
  4. Is hierarchical (John 10:29, John 14:28 as said by Jesus that the Father is above all).
  5. The Word has the qualities of God (John 1:1 Moffatt “the Word was divine”, REV “the Word was what God was”).  Calling the entity “God” is a biblical interpretation and does not refer to the state of being of the Father (John 4:24) or Jesus (John 8:40 and many other).
  6. The Holy Spirit can be construed as a Being because a force does not teach (Luke 12:12) or appoint overseers (Acts 20:28). Even Jesus confirms it in John 16:13-14.

Jesus existed with God in the beginning (John 1:1, 6:38, 8:42, 17:5 amongst many)

Jesus transformed to flesh and bone at birth (Galatians 4:4-5 and Matt 1:18)

Jesus visited Hades (most likely the “Paradise” section; Acts 2:31)

Jesus resurrected flesh and bone (Luke 24:39) and has a glorious body (Phil 3:20-21).

Jesus is the head of the body of Christians (Col 1:18, Eph 5:23)

One has to be in Christ to be saved (John 10:9, Acts 4:10-12)

Jesus is the only mediator between God and man (1 Tim 2:5)

Hades was most likely active before Jesus’ resurrection with two parts: Paradise (based on Luke 23:40-43 maybe) and Hell (Luke 16:22-24).

Hades is probably inactive until Judgment Day (Eph 9:5-6).

“an angel from the east” (Rev 7:2-3) is linked to the calling of the 144,000 (Rev 7:4-8). Daniel 10:1 & 13 show a link between Michael and Cyrus so the possibility exists it could be Michael the Archangel. The “remnants” professed by some religious groups could be those plucked out of corrupt religions. The third seal (Rev 6:5-6) appears to coincide with the calling and the rise of the anti Christ. The office of the Papacy has been denoted as the anti Christ by some; however, others (such as Armstrongists) believe that none of the world governments have power over it. Some believe the anti-Christ is a major world leader and some believe it is the system.  The “four winds” are related to Rev 9:15-21.

The start of the 7 year tribulation period (Dan 9:27) appears to be a peace treaty between the Pope and Israel with a possibility of the New World Order (including One World Government and One World Religion). It could be something we least expect and opposite of what the common opinion (the OWG is socialist/communist and the OWR is either led by the Catholics or is Islam).  Some claim part of NWO is elimination of radical Islam.

The fourth seal (Rev 6:8) could be construed as WW1 (1/4 of the earth’s surface being involved in a world war) or WW3 (where 1/4 of the population is literally killed by sword or famine).

Hades will probably be reactivated on Judgment Day (Rev 14:10-11, Rev 20:1, 2 Peter 2:1-4). Those with the mark of the beast will most likely be tormented at least during the millennium (it is not Satan and the demons doing it; it is the holy angels overseeing it).  Satan is locked up in the Abyss during that time as are the fallen angels in Tartarus (“chains of darkness”).

The sign of the end of the Great Tribulation (Matt 24:21) and the start of the 2nd coming of Christ is contained in Matt 24:29-31. Daniel 12 defines the Great Tribulation.

As per a video embedded in some other posts, the 45 days of Daniel 12:12 are the destruction of the wicked. Sometime during this is the first resurrection of the dead in Christ and raising of the survivors of the Great Tribulation.

The beast supposedly has 3 parts:

  1. Political: Consensus appears to be United Nations, European Union and Bilderberg. Trump, Putin and Duterte appear to oppose the New World Order (the first two have intention to remove Rothschild banks from their countries; many articles do suggest Trump is a puppet of the Rothschilds).
  2. Financial:  The Rothschild banking system (which controls World Banks and Federal Reserve).  George Soros appears to fund the left and the Koch Brothers appear to fund the right. Also, evidently the Rotschilds have funded the rise and fall of Communism. Jacob Rothschild appears to have coordination with Rupert Murdoch (the CEO of Fox News) in a Syria project. All the billionaires are most likely tied to the Rothschild banks as are the political leaders and religious leaders.
  3. Religious: the consensus is the Pope is tied to the above two or a one world religion with him taking the lead.  The possibility could also be a religious leader with a very small following who may have influence in government and claims other professing religions are false.

The first resurrection (1 Thess 4:16-17) consists of the dead in Christ (Rev 20:4-6 being part of that), the alive that meet in the clouds (Rev 7:14-17; Rev 19:1 defines this as the great crowd as does Rev 7:9).  This is the church of Christ (Matt 16:18) and the 2nd death has no power over it (Rev 20:6). Those in it are pure (Eph 5:27, Matt 5:8, Rev 14:5). All outside are judged (1 Cor 5:13).  The fifth seal (Rev 6:9-11) is coincident with this. From this, the church of Christ numbers considerably more than 144,000.

The opening of the 6th seal (Rev 6:12) is the start of Judgment Day.

It is apparent there may be survivors during the millennium (Rev 6:8, Rev 14:12-20) and those that Satan deceives at the end (the descendents, most likely) are consumed by fire (Rev 20:8-9).

Satan, the false prophets and the beast are thrown alive in the lake of fire (Rev 19:20, Rev 20:10). The second death (Rev 20:14, Rev 21:8) does not apply to them since they are not mortal; therefore their being tormented forever applies.

The last chance for salvation is the final judgment (Rev 20:12-13). It is possible only 100 million make it to that point (Daniel 7:10).  According to Rom 2:14-16 we are judged according to the law. Those in the book of life are allowed to enter the Holy City (Rev 21:27).

It is possible for “Paradise Earth” but only after final judgment (Rev 21:1-4 describes the Holy City and it coming down to the new heaven and earth; 2 Peter 3:13 defines the new heaven and earth). To bolster this, Rev 20:8-9 states those outside God’s camp will be consumed by fire (remember Satan is released after 1000 years for the final deception).

Those not found in the book of life are tossed in the lake of fire (Rev 20:15).  Hades ceases to exist at this time (Rev 20:14). Whether or not they are tormented forever (most Trinitarianism, Iglesia Ni Cristo) or cease to exist (SDA, JW, Armstrongism, most Unitarianism) is something we would rather not find out.
